Except for the addiction part, that might actually be why he retires. He'll basically have no family when his daughters move out. He doesn't need to worry about money at all. The only way I see Em staying in rap is if it's helping him with his addiction, but other than that, he might want to settle down soon.
You're forgetting legacy.
It's like Roger Federer. He already has the most major titles ever, but he's not stopping for a long time, so he can get more.
When someone is considered the greatest ever in their profession, they tend to stay around longer to back that up.
