Anyone think this loss contributed to his style change?

I love you Daren

Amadeo wrote:firstly.. i consider "the game" or "the rap game" as the main stream of rap... rappers who have much exposure & circulation are in the game. otherwise you can have MC Average Joe claiming he's been in the game for 10 years making beats on GarageBand & putting his raps on MySpace that nobody ever listens to. eminem entered "the game" under that definition in 1999 (nobody outside detroit knew who he was before then).

Well not really, putting music out on MySpace is totally different to being signed to a label.
He's been signed to FBT since 92. They're official producers. He's been on a label, even though it was independent since 92. So he's been in the game since 92.
Nobody knew who he was because he wasn't successful in making an impact but there are plenty of rappers / acts who first made a major impact on independent labels. Infinite just didn't sell very well but it was still an official release. Just didn't have major distribution.
And I also think he should construct beats to fit the music. This is why I prefer his own production for him as opposed to Dre's.

No he got put out on a major label in 1999.
He's been making music since a kid but signed to FBT in 1992. He then did Soul Intent and then put out Infinite in 1996. Infinite was released on the Bass Bros' independent label Web Entertainment.
