I never said you have to like Nas? I don't even like Nas so much. I'm just stating why I think Nas is better and that people's claims are not valid. Don't make broad claims like MMLP is better than Illmatic or Eminem is better than Nas is anyway, like some other people did. You stfu, fucker. And if you don't like rap, why are you on here?

Genius, post of the year. The whole point of the 'Eminem vs. Nas' debate is to bring some arguments instead of bluntly saying 'i like Eminem, Nas can suck his giant dick', so let me know if you're going to bring some more enlightening thoughts, I'll stop checking out this thread.

great thought! so next time eminem creates 5 dope songs he should make it an album and release it, i mean every track is dope so therefore it should be a classic, right? WRONG, it's pathetic.

"Illmatic" was the very reason Nas was claimed the best lyricist. 'NY State of Mind' or 'One Love' - they're sick. Add to that producents like Premier, Q-Tip or Pete Rock - you get the essence of hip hop. Like I said before, I still prefer "Stillmatic", but I can see why the die-hard hip hop fans call it the Bible of rap.

I'd never say that 5 dope songs make a classic, because yeah, it's quite stupid. If it was that easy, every rapper could release a bootleg with his top 10 tracks and call it a classic. Classic, for me, means that even after 15 years people will bump and remember it, that you will hear sampled lines and beats and that when you mention it to a fellow hip hop fan, he'll be like "that's the shit".

I can't tell if you're sarcastic or not on your first post.

I don't expect you to reply to these posts anymore now. Big Pun is dope though.

sorry 4 the l8 response, but your the biggest douchebag on this site. other people hav different opinions, doesnt make them a stan. get the fuck out with that shit

How am I the biggest douchebag? I'm just saying that people's claims about comparisons between Eminem and Nas, in my opinion, is bullshit and some people are Stans. Don't say Sac_JB isn't a Stan, fucker. This is a debate; we're supposed to be proving other people's statements wrong and put our own. Just because you don't listen to real hip hop doesn't mean you have to say everyone likes Eminem, cunt.

WORD. Bin Laden is also plain sick... with Point of No Return.

Man, now that I think of Immortal, I just can't help but agree his lyrics are one of the illest. Yes, even better than Nas in my opinion. His politics are better than Nas's depiction of urban life, but that's just me. Many would disagree, but his story telling abilities outshine Nas, Biggie, and 2Pac.

i think it's his imagery his way of describing things in clear and vivid images that makes him so amazing, i dont think he's lyrically better than nas though, he's good with the story telling aspect but his rhymes aren't anything out of the ordinary.. and his flow could use some work it's choppy at times.. but he's a great artist though.

lol @ every1 against 1 dude :D
i digg them both, both have different styles, Nas and Em both have storytellin abilities,but they both do it on different subject matter, Can eminem tell us a story about life is the "hood" or can Nas tell us a story about his fans and their love for him till the point of obsession?
they are both heavy weights,both deeper than rap :b:

Goddamit, I thought this topic died. Here we go again...

That makes no sense. Lyricism defines more than half of a rapper's skill...

Lyrics = 60%
Flow = 20%
Consistency = 10%
Other = 10% (Enjoyability, Story-Telling, Imagery)

Did you listen to Illmatic before?...

And as for Coleon...

He doesn't have a one dimensional song style, dude. His flow changes too. Seriously, just pick up a Nas album and then talk shit or don't talk shit at all, dude. No versatility? Wtf. I'm not trying to dickride Nas, but some of the comments are here are beyond idiotic. Give facts or don't even bother replying your bullshit.

the fuck are you on? who made you the guy who chooses what's worth what in a song?

lyrics to me aren't nearly as important as enjoyment imo.
