i don't know how anyone could like it. rap, as well as poetry is supposed to have parallel lines. it no doubt makes his flow choppy. and maybe that's the real issue, just his flow, but how could anyone say his flow was anywhere nearly as good as it used to be? it's really one of the only things missing. i don't care if he yells, he's proved that if he flows well with it, it's fine. it's just his choppy ass flow, which i do think in part is due to his writing structures, that makes him not as good as he used to be.

we all know it, don't try to sit here and claim he's just as good. im a huge em fan and still love his new shit, but don't kid yourself.

i really didn't love those flows, but those were the best he's done with them..not bad..but anyway, don't you think he used to be much better at flowing? like...he still did the same writing structure, but he didn't pause directly in the middle of them..i mean, i don't really think it's arguable.. his flow is definitely choppy because of it.

theres some tracks like Where Im At where he pauses...some tracks like Untitled where he doesn't...some in between. I think if he was on his own beats or Dre beats he would flow better (Relapse) but his content would suffer (Relapse, Encore). Deja Vu is the only Dre beat since TES that i really enjoyed the content.

i wonder why though, because he used to be able to flow and have content..i mean, he still can (and at times does)..if you like at The Warning, Insane (really odd, but a solid track in terms of flow/storytelling/lyrics) Deja Vu, Underground (I like it, some don't..) Almost Famous..

I just get irritated when he does dumb shit like this, because i know he can still do it when he wants to. i just think it makes better music overall, easier on the ears, just smoother..

Great choice of tracks to match the point. On the other hand "Stay Wide Awake"- great lyrics, choppy flow. Doesnt come off right

Or maybe we're talking about something else, I think you're referring to his recent choppy flows like on "Where I'm At" where it sounds like the sentences have been chopped up.

That's more to do with his flows, in his constant struggle to sound different every album.

But, something he and other good rappers do but which he does very well (as a skill) is ending... well, ending lines in the middle of words or even half way through a sentence, but the flow remains smooth - this makes you have to keep listening to make sense of the complete line, it's technique and it's skillful. It's like... rhythmic flair or something.

But I don't think you necessarily mean that anyway. To see what I'm talking about you can listen to the 09 Westwood freestyle, he does it a lot there, sounds awesome.

Fuckin' this.
I hate it when I want to write something, and I see Embase making a 200-word post of what I wanted to say in 2-3 sentences.
I'd also like to tell you Embase, that you should write for a fuckin' hip-hop magazine, or something. You're very smart, imo.
Now go on people, there's nothing to see here.

Disaprin... come from within.
