Em had a melody, he went to the Bass Brothers and melodized the fucking melody, and they entered the melody in the piano.

The Bass Brothers NEVER went up to Eminem and suggested the melody for the song, they didn't suggest a single fucking thing. It was Eminem's creativity that led to the beat even being made possible. It doesn't even matter that the Bass Brothers helped him with the beat. He could have easily went up to any well known producer and paid them some money to get the melody on the beat.

But I never said they had that effect :confusion:

I simply said that I believed their part in making the melody tangible deserved credit. I still believe that. The same way an artist credit's the media he uses to create his final piece :facepalm

@Embase.

For the last time. Eminem NEVER said the Way I Am was made without the Bass Brother's. That is your interpretation. Those words have never been noted as leaving his lips.

How one interprets their part in the track is another matter entirely. When Em wrote that he had Jeff play out the loop/tune he had, I stand by that being evidence that they helped make it.
I am an artist (not musically) and that's just my opinion.

@Insane. I felt like snapping. No hard feelings.

Lol, what an extremely dumb argument.

Who cares if he didn't give credit, the beat is still awesome.

I joined a forum and chose a name I felt like choosing.

I could ask you why your name is Wily, but I can probably guess that you're a faggot.

@Blu. The beat is awesome. My first post was to say that the Bass Brothers have had a great impact on Em, and then I followed to say that they did assist on this track (from my point of view anyway). I didn't expect it to escalate to this.

Screw it man, just let that argument fade away.

And you're not the dumbest member on this board lmao, I was just getting pretty annoyed at how you two kept going at it in a thread discussing one of Em's best songs lol.

That's not my interpretation, I have a good memory and I remember him saying "it was the first song I produced on my own", and I haven't read Angry Blonde so I couldn't have read it there, I remember him actually saying it. And I'm not saying he implied they weren't involved as in, nobody played instruments for him, but he did say 'on his own' and has used that phrase before when talking beats.

If you listen here... if you go to like 18 seconds, he's talking about Devil's Night I believe, and he says "produced songs myself", I know that's not him talking about "The Way I Am", but just to show you, he does use words like 'myself' and 'on my own' when talking about his beats, that's not me interpreting it.

He then goes on to say he wrote the melody and 'all that stuff' for "The Way I Am", and this isn't the clip I'm looking for, but trust me, I heard him say, about that song, "it was the first song I produced on my own", I'm just trying to find the clip for it now.
