Then how do you explain tracks like beautiful and deja vu? Those were some of the few REALLY good tracks on there and they were emotional tracks.

Either way, not wanting something to be emotional isn't an excuse for sub-par Em music.

Dude, I'm going by what he said himself. Eminem said he did not want to make emotional tracks. And yes, there is an interview where he says that. He said he made Beautiful to remind himself of where he was and Deja Vu, I don't know, it's supposed to be a emotional/kinda poking fun at himself track, which he does through out the track. He pokes fun at himself, but underneath it's a serious track, out of the only two that was on there, but it sticks to the concept of the album.

Point is, Eminem did not WANT to make emotional tracks, so when you cussed that guy out, saying he doesn't know what Eminem wants, I'm simply defending him by saying that that IS what Eminem wanted, he made Relapse for himself and he said so himself.

And I'm also going to add that Relapse was not in any way sub-par. The content wasn't that great, sure, but as a rap album it was 100000 times better than anything else in 2009. I, myself, enjoyed most of Relapse except Crack A Bottle. A lot of people are too picky, and a lot of people were turned off because of the accent, but really, it wasn't that bad at all. The rhyme schemes and storytelling made up for the accent and lack of content. Everyone has different opinions, what may be sub-par for you could be excellent for the next guy. I think Relapse was a brilliant album, it's stupid of me to try to tell you what to think, but I really do believe that Relapse was definitely above sub-par, whatever you may think about it. Quite frankly, I prefer the serious Em myself, but on Relapse you could tell he was having the most fun he's had in a long time, and I still bump Relapse often because it's a very enjoyable album, for me. I hope Recovery blows it out of the water, but it was in no way bad. It was light years beyond Encore, and I prefer to listen to Relapse of SSLP, that's just my opinion, not to say I don't like SSLP, I just don't like the whiny, nasally voice as much as some, but I recognize how great it was, and it is growing on me

Ok fair enough, but it was sub-par for eminem.. I'm not saying it wasn't good compared to other stuff out there, but it was sub-par for eminem, and had I known that I probably wouldn't have bought it.. and that's why I didn't buy refill. For the first time I'm actually going to have to listen to one of his albums (Recovery) before I buy it. And that's because of Relapse

yeah man, which is kinda lame...people always need to complain
and im glad em apologized for that shitty accent cuz that really made the album ehhh

Yeah same, the accent worked for some songs but in others it sounded awful. Relapse was an alright album, but by Eminem's standards, especially a 'comeback' album, it fell short.

Bolded.. I think that's a very overlooked fact that needs to be considered when talking about the value of this album. Returns and exits all need higher standards imo. Debuts not so much, but maybe idk.

yeah i mean....after 4 years of silence he comes back with an album that doesnt have any message or good content just serial murders and shitty accent...when i heard the album for the first time ...i was skipping songs and sayin like ..noo.nooo thats the eminem i wanna hear...untill i stopped at Beautiful and i really loved it...so after hearin the whole album i was like ...its "ehhhh"...not bad ...damn the accent ruined everything, also the content..thats why is considered as ehhh for me.
and stop comparing relapse with other 2009 albums....compare it to his previous work.
so im more than positive, after we hear recovery we all will say ...haha such a big difference between relapse and this...relapse was really ehhhhhhhhhhh compared to recovery....trust me
and also when em said on NA relapse was eh, i had a feeling recovery is gonna be 1000 times better than relapse :y:

Mark My Words !!!

Recovery will be his 2nd best album. just watch, I'm patiently counting down the days.

Honestly, Relapse was alright but this is fucking 2010.... no one wants to hear about rape, shoving umbrellas in a girls vagina and all this other nonsense that you can't even play outside your house or ipod.

I understand relapse was amazing lyrically, but there was no balance in the album. It felt like i was in a horror film the whole time.

The accent was starting to piss me off a bit because he sounded like someone put a clamp on his balls while he was rapping.

THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IS NEVER IN YOUR LIFE THINK THAT INTERSCOPE TELLS EMINEM HOW TO MAKE A RECORD... PLEASE DON'T SAY NONSENSE LIKE THAT THANK YOU.

Not to detract from the rest of your post, but...

At what year was it in style to make songs about raping people?

Obviously those are either different people saying those two things, or idiots. So I don't think that counts.
