Guaranteed. Although I'd like him to take this opportunity to announce what label he's signing to.

Royce said Em figures out when he's doing something to much (Ex. Accents). So he might stop shouting?

Ofcourse I don't mean it like that lol.

Listening to fans to understand what he really is doing wrong though only helps him step forward :D

It really doesn't.

The level of hate for the so called 'accents' got so ridiculous. That, I doubt Em will ever experiment with his voice/vocals EVER again.

Killing the creativity.

That's a silly thing to say and way to think.

It's art, there is no right or wrong, or rules. You can go anywhere, it's infinite and the only reason any true artist should do what they do, is to satisfy themselves.

So "to understand what he's doing wrong" makes no sense. If he loves what he's doing, then it's right. Period. An artist should make art they love and likeminded people will love it too.

To change your art for people who dislike what you're doing, aka people who are not likeminded... is fucking retarded and backwards. And compromising for people who don't think like you or are not on the same page as you at X time, so you shouldn't be concerned about anyway.

The only time Eminem makes bad music is when he's trying to please people other than himself. With the silly Encore tracks, it's quite clear he had grown out of that stuff but felt like people expected it from him, so right there - he was trying to appease what he THOUGHT people wanted. Instead of just doing exactly what he wanted. Yes, even when he was good on Encore he wasn't as sharp lyrically, but the serious tracks are still clearly the best. And good.

And I like Recovery, and most of the material is amazing. But the only bad elements to the material ie. the production or hooks are obviously because he's trying to please people he felt he alienated, or appeal to a new generation, again... not doing exactly what he wants. He's trying to second-guess himself, and please others before himself. Biggest mistake a true artist can ever make.

He had the totally right idea with Relapse when he said he's just going to do whatever HE wants to do again, and make it for himself, and fuck what anybody thinks. But then he went back on it. As deep down, I think he's a little needy and couldn't handle the criticism and reaction Relapse got, and was probably pissed off at critics saying he was a has-been or, implying it.

Either way, shouldn't listen to anybody but himself. No artist should.

Metaphors and similies FTW, that's whats prime Eminem's been doing, anyway.

-Love songs or metaphorical love songs about his drug addictions

:confusion:

-Trying to have a clam flow by whispering, find a middle ground

Insane/My Mom and Emulate and Deja Vu voices are the best thing that could happen right now.

Well, I guess I shouldn't have put can only help him step forward, because that is stupid. Take a look at Recovery's bad side for example, Eminem could have and should have done twice as many hooks and beats himself. But no, he took the obvious way of thinking and got popular(pop) stars to do it for him, because he thought it would be good publicity or sound good when really, that isn't how Eminem thinks.

Now, about the whole 'changing your art for someone' thing; That's true, you shouldn't ever change your art for someone, and up until Recovery Eminem has never even thought about that. And that's great, it really is. Him listening to people, and him listening to much of the negative reception Encore got may have very well been one of his key problems around that time. BUT, without people saying "You know what, you were on drugs around that time, and you put out garbage." he may have not tried to distance himself from Encore as much as he had, and i'm sure we are all glad that he did.
