iTunes account for about 10-15% of the total album sales in the US, and Amazon's percentage is very low (I think last year Beatles made a new Amazon.com record, having over 10.000 copies pre-ordered). Em might've had about 30.000-40.000 pre-orded from the two combined (up til today), and that won't make him #1 next week. That said, the "Amazon/iTunes charts" are quite useful when estimating how well an album is doing in general, but when it comes to predicting sales, it's of no use I'm afraid.
