One of the year's biggest rap albums (in my opinion) comes from Eminem's label mate Obie Trice. His last album came out in September 2003 and sold over 225,000 copies in the first week. To date, he has sold 900,000 copies in the U.S. and has gone platinium worldwide. The album will be released in France on Monday, over two weeks before the release in the U.S. Expect the album to leak this weekend. I highly doubt the album will sell anywhere near what his first album did, and that is a shame. This album is a lot better than his debut and over half of it was produced by none other than Eminem who also raps on the album. The album features 50 Cent, Nate Dogg, Akon, Trey Songz, Trick Trick, and of course Eminem. The albums first single "Snitch" with Akon was a flop for radio. The song just didn't get played, which comes to me as a suprise since "Soul Survivors" with Akon was a big hit. (The songs are similar in many ways.) The albums second single "Cry Now" hasn't gotten much of a buzz and has even lower radio plays than "Snitch". If I had to guess, I would say he would be lucky to get 100,000 copies in the first week, but a lot of people are anticpating this, so we will just have to see what happens, but don't let the poor sales of this album (or basically any album) let you think the album is no good. Hopefully the albums third single "Wanna Know" will bring more sales in for Mr. Trice. I would give this album 3/5. (Last album rating: 1/5)
