I'm sure there would be plenty of amazing rapping and great songs, but it would be a forgettable album overall with terrible production, cliche hooks and predictable concepts and content.
Encore, Relapse, Recovery... he hasn't made a classic in 12 years. That's crazy, I know it's only 3 albums, not like every single one he makes can be a classic but, this one needs to be... or at least like a WOW 'amazing album' result, after 3 years... well, 3 and a fucking half nearly... if it ain't THE SHIT... it'll be a let down. And Recovery 2.0 would not be THE SHIT.
Do you think he is going to make another classic?

I'm sure he still feels like he hasn't created the 'perfect' album yet.

He got really close with MMLP and TES tho

Hopsinshadie wrote:It wouldn't be so bad if a portion of his songs sounded like ''Fast Lane.'' Fast Lane isn't a bad song, it's one of the few songs he's made since his return that don't make me cringe.

Menzo wrote:Yeah, MMLP and TES are the closest he's gotten to it...I wonder how jaw dropping an album filled with songs with the musical and lyrical caliber of "Lose Yourself" would have impacted his career.

Well that actually felt like the next step...
i don't think TES was his peak... I think "Lose Yourself" was...
"8 Mile" and "Lose Yourself" are more dramatic, musically great, expansive, cinematic and just... better music than a lot of TES... they just felt... like a progression, which is amazing considering how good TES material is. Damn... he really could have made like The Jimmy Smith Jr. album, as a concept album, with an album full of tracks in that character, 8 Mile style production...
Man, an album worth of that calibre, would have been bananas like the fruit.
I know, I think "Lose Yourself" was his absolute peak - he's got the awards and credentials to back that claim up too. It's just theatrical.
Sigh.

This.
If Eminem had died after the 8 mile movie, Lose Yourself, and probably after The Eminem Show, he would definitely have secured his place as GOAT, probably on par with Tupac and Biggie.
