La Roux's Elly Jackson reveals that Dre has sampled the vocals for one of the duo's biggest hits.
To say Dr. Dre's Detox has been long-awaited and long-overdue may be considered an understatement to fans who have anticipated the album for more than a decade. After releasing two singles from the upcoming album, "Kush" and "I Need A Doctor ," Dre has received some mixed reviews about the different sounds he has been experimenting with.
La Roux's Elly Jackson revealed to BBC Radio 1 on Wednesday that Dre is further pushing the envelope, sampling the Skream remix of the duo's hit, "In For The Kill."
"He got really excited about the track which is obviously really complimentary," she said. "He did something with it and then sent it to us and [asked] can he use it for his record and we said 'Yes.'" She also said, "[He's used] mainly the vocal and then he put his own beats on it. It's supposed to be on the next record."
Jackson claims that Dre heard the original track while watching an episode of Entourage that the song was featured in.
"Apparently he and The Game were sitting watching Entourage together. My manager always jokes that they were eating ice cream under blankets and having a girl's night in."
at the bold part.Man, Dre's ingenuity amazes me nowadays. Who else would have listened to that song and thought, "Damn, this could have made a dope hip hop song?"
Oh wait...YEEZY already did. Step it up Dre...

he's done some decent songs, but some are just horrible to me.
