Fabolous/Loso vs. Joe Budden

Postby Wreck » Jan 31st, '09, 04:38

Lyrically, as far as punchlines, metas, wordplay etc. all that goes. NOT on making real records or disses- because Joe does all of that, and Fab don't, but it's all good.

I fuck with both of them, Fab's one of my fav. rappers and has got increasingly better, from his first album which was good, up until now, and Joe has blossomed as well since his solo effort, and has rised up in the underground scene.

This is who is better lyrically, but also, a thread dedicated to lyrical songs and lines by both artists, in collaborations and separately- mixtapes, albums, appearences etc.

Talk about it

Yeah I totally agree with you on their & I loved that track as well, dope shit. I agree that Fab took that. I do remember that Joe recycled that verse, from the last dayz freestyle, on Green Latern's shit. I'm glad somebody else knew that, that verse was a copy from shit Joe did earlier. Regardless, I really like Joe's verse and he came hard with the punchs. My favorite is "Arms start wavin like the Carlton Banks dance," but I liked and thought Fab's was shorter and sweeter. Plus, the money is the route of all evil I thought, line is some crazy shit from Fab.

I loved Breathe. I actually bought Real Talk and thoroughly enjoyed that album. Just Blaze is another dude I love (no homo) and he brought his a game on that track. Coleon, did you know initially, the singing in the beat/the sample in the beat didn't say "breathe"? It was just mumbo jumbo, and Fab wrote the whole song around the word breathe, cause he thought it said it in the background. JB laughed and told Fab that it didn't say breathe, but he could fix the beat to make it say it, and he did.

Just something interesting I thought I would share about Fab.

lol that is a pretty nifty fact to know, when it comes to Fab you know what you're talkin about

Yeah man, thanks. Are Fab and Joe two of your favorites or no? I'm just curious.

Yeah I fuck with all 3 of 'em, and Slaugherhouse as a group. I hope they put out an album collectively in the next year or two, with more Joe albums included.

Plus, I think Fab should join Slaughterhouse. That would be even more crazy, huh.

I've actually pondered that, it'd be dope but every song would be like 10 minutes long, if someone falls out though then I'm all for it

you think if Slaughterhouse fell out it would be NWA number 2 lol

Yeah definitely...except with no Jerry Heller this time LOL..they should make Eminem their manager, breakup and reenact that, 20 years later....lol nah I'm playin, that'd be funny but horrible though....

what of Loso have you heard- Real Talk and up? his first two albums were real good, but with different production and flow. He had more DJ Clue joints in his first 2 jawns

:sweating: I like Can't Deny It, Nate always brings a tight hook and Fab keeps his flow tight *Shows his rookie knowledge of Fab

Yeah, I feel the same way.

I actually look at it like a Pac tribute, but made into a song. If you know what I mean by that....

unlike where Jay-Z just straight up steals and bites Pac and Big lines.

Plus Nate fucked with Pac, and like you said, he's a hook genius and specializes in that, so he tore it up, and Fab put the finishing touches, with nice, thought out rhymes on that one.

I liked, holla back youngin too

it was something different, and a nice single..Not just some club, poppy bullshit song like Souljah Boy might do, but had a swag to it. Plus, another story I got is that Clue told fab to work his flow like that in the song. What I'm talkin 'bout specifically is that Clue told Fab before finishing up the song, to work the flow to have one word, then a pause in the flow, then two more words, and so on and so on throughout the song...example cause it's hard to explain on the net

"Rollin....gold two seater
Stash in the dash
Hole through heaters
Blockahhhhh...... put holes through beaters
Ghetto Fab stroll through Cheetahs
Ballin....Brooklyn dawn
Addicted to Crys hooked on Don
15 G's hookers on
Ma, I wanna see how you look in thongs."

Ok so the flow wasn't 1-2 like, but Clue structured it like that...I thought that was some dope shit, when the song came out, and to hear that Clue would put it out like that for his homie.

You hear Classic (Kickdrums Remix) By Joe Budden???

Yeah. Fab worked that shit and killed it (in a good way). I love that beat as well.

Oh shit, nah, I never heard that Joe track (surprisingly). I'ma dl it now, thanks for mentioning it.

You were talking about how you knew as well about Joe recycling his last dayz freestyle, for Family Reunion. Have you ever heard "Broken Wings" by Joey? Shit is unbelievable and some real shit. Lyrical too. It's classified as a freestyle as well by B but I don't consider it a freestyle track, plus it doesn't seem like it's off the top like a freestyle would be. Anyways, check that out if you haven't.

DUM OUT is the shit, and yeah Joe buddens kills emotional tracks love it :y: :y:

yeah man, no doubt. Dumb out is on another level, another planet lol :y:.

Hell yeah, I think me and him are sort of the same artists, in that way of making emotional and real tracks. Plus we're both from Jersey as well and rep it.

But anyway, you hear "This is Family" from Fab? It was a bonus track on From Nothin' To Somethin', featuring Paul Cain, Freck Billionaire, Red Cafe, Ransom & Joe. Shit is nice.

Btw, on Family Reunion, HItchcock was dope on that as well. Not much heard from him as far as records go. Some are on Youtube but he's got potential. Nice flow, wordplay & multies, especially in that track.

Ransom plus Saigon plus Fabolous = Slaughterhouse 2 lol, mainly aimed at hatin Joe

never heard This Is Family but i will def listen

I think Ran and Yard Father would do it, but Fab cool with Joey lol. That's some funny ass shit though bra. It would be like an opposite group, all formed together to rap, made with disses aimed at hating Joe lol. What's the opposite of a Slaughterhouse? maybe a Church.....lmfao

church n*ggas- feat. Ransom, Saigon & Prodigy of Mobb Deep, form this group to hate Joe lol

nah that shits funny but I can't see it happening. Joey my dude but I gotta admit, I loved Saigon's "Underachiever" diss. That shit was crazy and had me laughin. You hear it? I thought he might of crossed the line a lil with the shot on Joe's kid Tre; calling him gay and a faggot "like his daddy" as Saigon calls it. Budden came back with 2 nice disses though, so it's a nice beef goin on. Nothin' physical as of yet lol. Yeah listen to that Fab track with 'em all. Ran's on it, but Loso don't fuck with Ran no more, since him (Ransom) and JB have had problems.

Church Ni**as lol, too bad Royce would get half them shot then Crooked would get Suge to just get the others "Missing" and Joell would lyrically slaughter them, Joey would just have to set back and laugh

Yeah, I agree- 2nd round was dope, and the first round battles wise and in general, is like a cafeteria food fight. Everything's being thrown around all at once and instead of taking time out to hit and hurt somebody where it really hurts, you're just throwing first round squashed shit, if you know what I mean...second round is where it all happens, especially in rap battles (these 2 ill mothafuckas especially). It was crazy- Joey coming back, talking about how Sai forced his bitch to get an abortion lol. I was like "oohhhhhh, owwwwwww, ahhhh" when hearing that (punch) lol. Good shit.

LMAO you hit the nail on the head their my man. royce would pull out his nine, and would still have time to shout out slim, in the process of knuckling up LOL. I think Suge is M.I.A. since Greg the Barber fucked his ass up in the club, but you right, he would be "missing" and that word only LOL.

yeah, Joey would do that, and record it on Joe Budden TV lol. You know.

I seriously hope that happens. I'm not about violence but shit, that shit would be funny, plus all the events and stories (that would be) behind it, if it really happened haha...

P.S. You right, Joell is ill with them punches man...

Coleon wrote:That would seriously make my rap year, i say we get this Church Ni**as thing rollin
k so next, Onslaught = Crooked took it, Slaughterhouse = Joell took it, Move On Rmx. = Joey

you agree?

I co-sign and agree with that, totally lol. I'm down with it, let's get it poppin and escalade it. Make a tape of disses between the two/two squads and let it escalate for real.

Yeah, I agree Crooked took onslaught but slaughterhouse was tough. I'll admit and this may sound dumb and or corny, but a lot of times I can't hear, well I mostly can't understand most of what Joey is spitting, in a verse, on a particular track lol. This was the case. I heard some of it on the Slaughterhouse track and what I heard was dope, and I even listened to the rest that was unclear a few more times and didn't get what he was saying (not as in I didn't comprehend it, just couldn't hear what words were coming out of his mouth on the beat that time lol). But then again, their are times, in Joe's case where I don't comprehend what he means, mostly with diss tracks, either lol. I think I might have to do with his voice. A lotta times emcees have accents or their voice, on the record, at the end of a line or bar gets hard to understand, so you have to listen to it twice. At least in my case I have to but it's all good, I fuck with Joe's shit regardless lol. Anyways, back to what you said. I think I'ma go with Royce on Slaughterhouse. Joe and Crooked I were 2nd. Fuck, Joell and Nino Bless might of been tied, and tied with the rest, for a 4 way tie for 2nd on the SH track LOL. I know it sounds stupid but that's what I'm feelin and goin with :y:.

Their are more Slaughterhouse tracks on youtube I'll have to check out. They just had a few shows too. Joe even posted one on JBTV and dedicated another video to his chick making his pancakes and breakfast after one of them shows, late at night LOL, which was some funny shit. I know one of the shows was in NY, dunno about the rest.

Who you think took the first round between Yard Father (Sai) and Joey?

Btw, and not that it matters, are you a girl or a guy? I said "man" earlier, so I aint wanna offend you and all that, if you're a girl lol. Either or, it's all good to me. My bad for the long post

Yeah no doubt.

I dunno though. I (really) liked Saigon's Underachiever. I think the way it was comprised, and all that, made me like it. It wasn't lyrical and all, nor did it hit hard, towards Joey, but....

it had a dope beat, a dope beat to pick/appropriate for a diss track or record, and the dark beat fit the dark track.

I like the way Sai started it out...instead of goin "yeah, yeah, yo yo yo yo, what up, yo" like some rappers do, cluttering songs, diss records or not, he started it funny and began off the bat (shortly after the beat started and with some possibly corny but clever shit to me)

I liked how Yard Father had Prodigy or pasted something Prodigy said about Joey, at the end of the track. What Prodigy said was pretty funny though. "Wtf is a Mood Muzik?" lmao

I also like the lines "you trying to promote padded room, you should wear a padded room, somewhere playing patty cake, I'ma get at him y'all." the first part of that line- LMAO.

besides that, iuno why I overall like the Saigon diss lol. It aint like one of the best all-time or nothin, but I think it's good. I like the beat. Anyone know who produced it or where it was from? Actually, I know it was a pre-made beat that somebody already used on another track before, but don't know which or who it was from.

first track kinda proved what Joe was talkin about, hidin behind his production

the prodigy thing was quite humorous lol

it was a good diss but I felt that Pain In His Life was the most personal and hurtful, Pushin BUDDENS WAS MORE LIKE AN ACTUAL SSONG

Yeah. Joey coulda exposed more about YF, but chose not to on the track lol. Somehow he knows a lot of dirt about rappers, or can find out through a "source" he has, not available for other people on the internet, according to JB lol. But yeah, I agree, PIHL was the most personal, diss wise and went the hardest as far as attacking the other guy, but I think the whole beef/battle records are tied, but Pain In His Life was dope no doubt. I don't know lol- some of Joe's disses & freestyles are so fuckin long, they are (almost equivalent to being) songs haha. Yeah Prodigy was funny- too bad his ass is in jail now, period, and to be able to say any more about this $hit....:y:
