On a serious note what does Hip Hop really mean to you?
For me it's metaphorically life or death. Without Rap I don't think I'd survive much. Life's been a huge struggle for me ever since I can remember, so to me Hip Hop is life, its the ONLY and I mean ONLY time when I can sit down and listen, whether to a melody, or a lyric, and just connect.
Struggles of life is what makes Hip Hop what it is, to some a song might seem dope to them, but I look at it on a whole 'nother level, the true meaning behind it. Reason why I don't like anything that gets played on the radio now a days, simply because it doesn't help one to live, besides the owner.
The true routes of Hip Hop and its meaning has changed in the industry, and it makes it very hard for artists now a days to be heard or given a chance. IMO 90% of Underground rappers would of gotten fairly good record deals easily if the game was back in the 90's or even 80's.
