It happens everytime... not even to just that last album before the new ones, the new one usually drags all of them up, back to hot 200. I was talking to Emady about how it's gonna be funny when Em is about to have like 8-10 albums in top 200 for a few weeks again.

Thanks Mikey! :y: Shit is timeless so they're not even under pressure to drop new album... old ones keep adding to the cake.

Yeah it's crazy how much he keeps selling every week. He has made so much money for Interscope. I hope they really promote Em this time and his Shady Record artists
I wanted an album so rugged nobody could touch it.
Spent a million a track and went over my budget.
Now how in the fuck am I supposed to get out of debt?
I can't rap anymore, I just murdered the alphabet.

Well Interscope were never great at promotion... I mean they've been ok back in he day but they've mostly depended on the charisma of their own artists first & then promotion & all the rest. That's why they've released so many great artists when they stop delivering what they need from them. (Busta, Obie, Lloyd Banks, etc.)
As of late though it' went from bad to worse... not that much for EM as for the rest of their artists but still overall they've been pretty awful at timing, planning, promotion & all that. I mean they've been ridiculously bad at it for the last 5-6 years or so!
I just hope 50 first, & then EM will have more than one big commercial record so both of them wouldn't really depend on Interscope... still I do think more of less Interscope will fuck up their albums again though.

They only focus on promoting their bigger artist who they think will sell.
Back in 2011, Lady Gaga had practically the biggest promo of the year and she's under Interscope.

I was talking about hip-hop artists only. I do know they promote better when they expect bigger sales in general & I said that but it still sucks ass. On another note EM's always supposed to sell but they kind of went low key on him too for the last couple of albums, even though still way better than what they did to 50's "BISD'', Yela's & SH's debuts & even Kendrick's debut. I won't count "BME'' project as a badly promoted one as it came outta nowhere & was just testing the water kinda album but they still fucked up there really, really bad with timing & planning.

On your topic... Gaga sold a lot when nobody else was selling so they did good work on her promotions indeed, even though I never followed that closely as I'm not interested in pop music. At times it was ridiculously pathetic though.. hence that time Dre had Jimmy with him presenting his ''Beats by Dre'' & when interviewers were asking them about the headphones quality Jimmy kept involving Gaga into the convo whenever the term ''great sound'' was mentioned. There were like 3 or 4 totally out of place reach out mentions right there. If he wasn't a greedy, gold digging old timer he should have been embarrassed as fuck from this.

Thanks Mikey... yet again!

Yeah ''Recovery'' might be just off Top 200 so I think it's gonna join in pretty soon. ''Curtain call'' needs to move some more digits to get there too but I think at some point that's gonna be pretty close as well.
If you count ''GRODT'' & ''The Massacre'' as Shady albums it gets crazy man. Em is untouchable!

Some more Canadian Sales from the catalogue and top 200 charts for 2/03/13 leaked.
I thought I would do a sales comparison between his Canadain and U.S sales. Not all of his US sales are up to date.

Platinum in Canada is 80,000
Album Canadian Sales U.S Sales
MARSHALL MATHERS LP 914,129(x11 platinum) 10,670,926 (x10 platinum)
EMINEM SHOW 880,633(x11 platinum) 10,142,944 (x10 platinum)
ENCORE 577,384(x7 platinum) 5,314,503 (x5 platinum)
RECOVERY 542,206(x6 platinum) 4,389,360 (x4 platinum)
CURTAIN CALL 458,084(x5 platinum) 3,666,869 (x3 platinum)
SLIM SHADY LP 381,515(x4 platinum) 5,383,545 (x5 platinum)
RELAPSE 257,249(x3 platinum) 2,270,000 (x2 platinum)

Total: 4,011,200 (x50 platinum) ~42,000,000(x42 platinum)

In the US, Recovery is his 5th best selling album to date. In Canada, Recovery is his 4th soon to become 3rd best selling album to date.

In Canada as of 2010 he is the 4th best selling artist in soundscan history, while in the US he is the 7th.

If they're accurate then such a bump in sales gotta be 'cuz of St.Valentines... or they could have been on sale 'cuz of it.

This is ridiculous! Considering these numbers, I guess some of his other albums are at about 2-3k in that catalog chart. So fucking surreal!
