B.o.B vs. Bobby Ray

Postby EminemBase » Jan 12th, '10, 22:43

Just listening to the mixtape now.

I can see why Em likes him so much. Majorly talented.

I think B.o.B, Kid Cudi and Charles Hamilton will shape the next true evolution in hip-hop now. They are the future. I think Em was probably inspired by B.o.B and Cudi to think bigger on R2 too. Good shit.

Yeah he's not a stellar lyricist but he's a better artist than both of them put together IMO.

Drake seems fake and he's nowhere near as creative / original as Cudi. Asher I think will improve and grow, he's good at rhyming but has a lot of shape-shifting to do until he's a true artist / MC to me.

So yeah Drake can rhyme better but Cudi's songs I think are way better. Like "Sky Might Fall", amazing. Also, yeah Drake may be better as a lyricist in terms of pure rhyming etc.

But the concepts Cudi comes up with, the way he presents them, I think his lyricism is more unique. And better, to me anyway.

every1 complains about Drake being fake... but he doesnt talk about being a gangsta... he talks about his experiences of living a good life and having money and girls... and he makes some good songs too... asher roth still needs to find himself as a rapper... i think by his 2nd-3rd cd hes going to be really good lyrically... i think kid cudi is best to listen to high haha
i think all 3 are doing good things for hip-hop

^ topic title is the name of the mixtape

@EmBase
personally, when Drake is actually spitting and not on that gay shit he's a way better rapper than BoB or Cudi...Charles Hamilton got dropped so I don't know how much of a future he has

Better rapper than Cudi yeah. Better lyrically. But I'd still choose to listen to Cudi over him any day. I just find Drake annoying.

Cudi is way more creative too, forget rap you can't really categorize what Cudi and B.o.B are doing now. I don't think he's a better rapper than B.o.B either. B.o.B is very unique. As for CH, yeah he got dropped... Stupid move by Interscope. But he has enough fans to keep the momentum going and no doubt get another deal or continue to make noise independent.

CH is on another level compared to Drake.

I suggest you ask me if what I have checked out before making assumptions.

I've heard Drake's mixtapes. I checked him out straight away because of the intense hype.

I think Cudi and B.o.B are both better.

Cudi maybe, Bob could make an impact, but Charles is gone

he already came and went

Na he's back.

He got dropped from Interscope, probably because of the Soulja Boy fued... Which is just ridiculous. They dropped a genuine rising star over a toy You-Tube rapper. They picked cashcow over artist + eventual longterm cashcow. Dumb move.

But anyway, he took a break to sort out his personal shit. But just released a new mixtape and is making music again. It was a self-imposed recluse.
