I think the best way to do this is with

JUDGES (the people who voted on the ones yoshi made, get to be the judge)

the best way for this to work, is to promote it.

send a message to every member at once every other day (or every 3 days) reminding them WHEN the voting starts, and HOW to vote...I guarantee you'll get at least 25-35% of the active members on TR shady to vote. which is what? couple hundred? probably more.

an admin needs to be on top of this as well.

I like Tash's idea...keep each section in it's own group..otherwise you have people who never listened to audio voting on who's the best based off of favoritism.

to be completely honest I didn't even know there was one of these started up a few weeks ago...no promotion..not everybody reads this section...some people only go to certain sections because that's what they like... which is why I say a mass private message should be sent out every so often to keep interest high.

and this needs to get started within 4-5 days to keep the interest up.

tom you seem to be in charge here, I'd recommend you get together with a mod or someone high on the list to figure out:

1) 5-10 categories for each section of awards... (ASAP)
2) mass private message
3) then host a nomination week...
4) mass private message
5) top 5-10 nominations for each category get put on the polls...
6) mass private message

leave the polls open for at least 2 weeks...and then announce the winners

in all of this time of voting/nominating someone can work on the graphics for the awards.

my two cents..honestly like with the mixtape thing, and other ideas that never really take off here..the only reason it doesnt take off is because people just talk about doing it, maybe start something, but never have any kind of direction to stay on pace. nor promotion to keep interest high.
imo I think if you want people to vote you need to inform every member, and with something like a yearly awards...thats DEFINITELY something you want to do to make people love this site even more.
