Kanye is underrated as an artist, but at the same token, overrated as an MC. :y:

The College Dropout and Late Registration were fantastic records, though. :worship:

For once, I agree. Although I also think Graduation is fantastic, and his best.

I'm in the UK and we do actually hear a lot of Kanye so I don't know where you got that.

I'm not talking about his latest fucking around with autotune, that started in 2008.

The College Dropout, Late Registration and Graduation are rap albums. With elements of soul. They're hip-hop. And obviously he doesn't sound like Eminem. Just like Eminem doesn't sound like 2Pac. But they're all similar in their ambitions, passion and love for the art.

Kanye is not a pop-rapper by any means. That's total bs. You don't know Kanye.

You're right, I don't know anything about Kanye apart from the music I've heard from him, I shouldn't have to go reading up on his backround, I want to hear it lyrically, we all have different opinions on what makes a great rapper and for me creative lyrics are the essential quality needed, something I feel Kanye falls short in, auto-tune along with whoring himself around to be on any appearance track is annoying aswell.

In Scotland we had Goldigger overplayed on the radio and nothing much else memorable was played for a long period of time, even Jesus Walks didn't have much radio time, and I got that from living in Scotland.

And IMO he did go "pop" (I know it really means popular, but you get what I mean) and no I don't know Kanye, I'm very glad I don't, the impression he gave most of the world was he was a grade A twat, and I thought that before he bitched about Beyonce not winning some shitty MTV award

i saw some hate on 808s and people getting called fags for listening to it...FUCK Y'ALL
That album is a classic. If you've ever been sad and depressed for a period, that album hits the perfect spot.

Well you've proved your ignorance. Kanye didn't start using autotune until 2008.

His first album was 2004. His second 2005 and his third 2007. None of those used autotune. And he used autotune on the next album because he can't sing and wanted to express himself more about his mother's death. It wasn't a pop move. Every other cunt who copied him just made it so.

And you can't take a rapper or any good artist on their singles. It'd be like just judging Eminem on his zany-celeb shit. Totally absurd.

Try "Champion" - "Homecoming" - "We Don't Care" - There's some original lyricism for you. And it's by no means pop or pop-rap.

Kanye is fucking Marmite nowadays

When he came in 04, he was so humble, a breath of frest air to Mainstream Hipo-Hop, maybe not the most skilled but different. College Dropout, every track is a different subject although it's too long windid (Did i need 12 minuites of talking shit for Last Call. You did two verses, didn't need another 9 minuites of shoutouts) and some tracks are filler but it was a promising start

Late Registration is probably his Best Work, although the beats started to get sloppy cut and paste (listen to "Touch The Sky" and "Drive Slow") but there were no filler tracks and i actually started to respect Kanye's work

Graduation was a disappointment for me as his personality and music was getting worse. Don't get me wrong, graduation is alright 6/10 ish but he lost his different appeal in favour of going poppy. lashing Lights was the only track i can properly bump

808S was fag music. End of. People say he's doing something different with music but A. he took an annoying effect B. went to be even more poppy and the . tried to sing on it. Basically it's T-Pain with differnt beats. To be honest, i don't care for much outside of hip-hop but hearing that shit was excruiating to say the least. I'm thinking, from Jesus Walks, arguably his best song to Love Lockdown. If that was anyone else i'd thought they'd sold out but dude made fag choices with an Ego so big it deters me from his stuff.

I worry that the 5th Album will be Graduation Part 2 only worse

I didn't say he used autotune before 2008, I just said his use of autotune if annoying, and I'll admit the few songs I have heard from him are the singles, but that would be the only way I'm being ignorant on this thread.

I'm going to check out those 3 songs you've mentioned and read the lyrics along with them, I hope I'm pleasantly suprised, it's like someone was on here a couple months ago, mentioned Asher Roth and I can't say I think much of the guy at all, they mentioned 2 songs "All I Em" & "The Lounge" and they are now 2 of most played songs on the pod.

Every Kanye album except for Late Registration is a classic. Late Registration was just boring for me.

Did I say I like the album? No. I said I admire him for it.

I admire him for doing what he wanted to do, taking a risk and not being a true faggot like you.
Which is to suck the cock of every popular consensus opinion bearer.

You're just pissed he wasn't talking about guns and crack so you could stand in front of your mom's mirror with a hairbrush being a bedroom gangsta, thinking you can relate.

It's clear. You're a moron.

"I admire him for taking a risk" What the fuck does that even mean? You admire him for making perhaps the gayest "rap" album that year? Oh wait you admire him for being courage enough to show his real identity on a album? Aka be the homo gay fish he is.

Start admiring bitches with actual tits and not a pair of sun glasses and a script of Kanye's act, and you're calling me a faggot? My bad, didn't know faggots hate soft music, last I checked, fags liked soft music, and only fags admire as soft music as that.

Lol hairbrush, I can probably grow a bigger mustache then your grandfathers one. Where as for you, you'll be struggling to keep up with your moms. Girls thinking they boys these days. :shakehead:
