Who else thinks that he should put that song on Relapse 2 with a third verse? That song alone is better then the whole Relapse cd, maybe he can use it as a single to?
Just a thought, but i really like that song.

EminemBase wrote:Pretty good song. Definitely not as simplistic lyrically as some imply. He had a nice scheme going, it's just slow and growly so it feels simpler than it is.
Definitely could of done with a third verse and / or maybe a bridge though.
But no I don't think it should be on R2, it's old, from his 07 period and we've heard it now. Would just be weird and sound out of place, like "Beautiful" did on Relapse.
I also don't agree it's better than the whole Relapse CD. You probably just think that because let me guess you hate that "stupid accent, man what happened to Em, he don't talk about real shit no more!" yada yada.
He totally stepped his lyricism and flows up on Relapse and whilst I'm glad he's changing directions again now for Relapse 2, I'm also glad Relapse came like it did. I wouldn't wanna be without those songs. The same people complaining about its subject matter were probably the same complaining that they wanted psycho-shit back when he was moaning about fame and Hailie.
I've heard all I need to hear about all of that to be honest. There's not many more spins he can put on it. Now I just want pure originality, I want him to come up with stories and characters but present them as intense psycho-melodrama like "Kim" (but more lyrical). "Kim" is astounding because it feels real-time. As if you're in the car with him when he's driving Kim and shouting at her.
It also doesn't feel contrived. It was only right that the rhyming etc. Should be watered down, as with "Stan". It's essential for it to feel in the moment, humanistic. And for it to connect on that level.
So I would like more stuff like that. I also want him to poke fun at the World again but in an MMLP kind of way. Social commentary as apposed to shock for shock's sake. I can't wait for R2.

EminemBase wrote:^^ No replay value for YOU. Not no replay value by definition, simply because the subject matter is not based on his personal issues.
For me, the replay value is dependent on the quality of the song, not the content. How well it's crafted, how interesting it is, how visual the lyricism, how complex the rhyming, whatever. Different songs have different replay values for different reasons.
He talked about 'real shit' non-stop from... 2002 (and in bits before) until 2006. What did you want in 2009? Another 15 tracks complaining about the trappings of unescapeable fame. Oh the horror, the millions of dollars for doing what I love, how can I cope. Or another bunch of tracks about the guilt of leaving Hailie or the hate for his ex-wife?
Or how about a bunch of them bitching about his addiction. Fucking YAWN. I don't see why you and others have this obsession with his personal issues. Yeah it was good when he was doing it but it's done now, there isn't much ground he hasn't covered so when it comes now I want it in doses. A few tracks here and there, not albums worth of it. Because it'll sound stretched and repetitive now.
You totally confuse reality with substance. Just because he's not complaining or divulging on real life issues that have happened to him does not mean a song cannot have meaning or have replay value. His new songs are obsessively crafted, intense, honed, beautiful flows, poetic writing. They're packed with irony, twisted humour, sublime imagery. The replay value in the new tracks comes from that, these things make the tracks endlessly addictive to me.
You also confuse reality with meaning. His personal songs often have less meaning than his off-the-wall songs. Even all of his new stuff, packed with metaphors, references, themes, fables, so many angles on real life that he can't reach with talking earnestly, seriously or in self-pitty. There's so many interesting places you can go in fiction, it's limitless. And you have a very limited mind if you seriously think his new songs don't have meaning. Just because he's not bitching.
Of course I like his old stuff too. But... That's his old stuff. I don't wanna hear him just repeat what he's done. How fucking tedious is that. Just like everybody else. The reason Eminem was an exciting artist to begin with was the fact he totally changed every album. By Encore he became predictable. So it's a good job he's gone back to just pushing himself creatively.
If you wanna sit down and cry and 'relate man, relate to his shit, yeah feel his words' then go listen to "Sing for the Moment". The track is already made and I doubt he'll better it. He can make duplicates but then you'll moan he's covering the same ground. I want originality.
Reality is boring, he's an escapist artist. Like Tarrantino he creates his own Worlds and invites you in. I do like his older serious stuff too but that's there now and there's plenty of it. I don't need more of it. This obsession with hearing what you've heard I just don't get it. I'm very happy that he's back in psycho-mode and can't wait to see where he's gone for R2. Even if it is more 'emotionally driven' I'm sure it'll be insanely lyrical and interesting.
