When did we start getting new material

Now I know this is a question none of us could possibly know but just something to think about. How much of Marshall Mathers LP was a carry over of Slim Shady LP you know...was it Eminem Show that we first got all mainstream songs and no underground written Em songs. I guess I'm asking how much of MMLP was written by Em underground?

well base on lyric references, most of MMLP songs were written after SSLP, but you never know, he could have done the whole song then after a while came back and change some lyric to make it more relevant to the time.

Back then he was writing so much 24/7. I think he had to be very much 'in the moment' to have written many (if not all) of MMLP's tracks.

I think the special on vh1 about the album said he wrote it when he was on tour for sslp, cause I remember when they were talking about kill you and how he heard the beat in the background when he was on the phone with dre, and as I remember they said he started writing it after the mmlp, altho I'm sure that some "material" as in rhymes, lines, punches, concepts, topics, etc. he already had down, most of it was written after the sslp
