God, I hope not. That would be horrible, because I'm expecting more of this album than I did Relapse. I think if that did happen that it would prove that Eminem doesn't really have that "magic" like he did w/ his first 3 albums. But I think we should at least try to be optimistic, at least until we get some kind of single or snippet or something that will show how the album would be.

To me a rapper falls off when he becomes bad at his art and / or loses passion for the point of it.

Eminem has done neither. He's more skilled and passionate than ever. His flows and lyricism are immsense. No doubt you hate the 'stupid fucking accent'. Fine...

But some, like myself, don't. I think it sounds good. So it's not a fact he fell off just because you don't like his new accent or because he ain't bitching about fame. He's stayed totally true to the artform and is pushing himself. And is better than ever in many aspects.

And no he won't with R2 in my opinion either. He said he's putting everything he's got into it.

Yeah he got lazy on Encore. He was bored with it. I think it was more boredom and drug addction than falling off. It was formulaic.

But he didn't fall off with Relapse IMO. Not at all. He totally stepped it up. He's on his way up up up.

I haven't been this hyped for an Eminem album since TES, and he sure lived up to the hype with that album, so I hope it'll be like that again.
And to be honest, I actually think it's going to be a great album.
With all the talk about how he changed direction and focusing on a more emotionally driven record, I think it'll turn out great. Because his emotional tracks are without a doubt his best in my opinion.

But we'll know for sure when it comes out.

How did he fall off for 3 years?

I think you'll find I just admitted he got lazy / fell-off some on Encore so no need to try and convince me there. It still however housed some of his most mature lyricism and it was nowhere near as bad as it's made out to be.

Also, he didn't fall off for three years - He took a break. He announced he was taking a break in 04/05 before Proof even got shot. That's why he had Curtain Call and at that time he was saying it may be the last thing he puts out, he don't know etc.

Then he started to make a real solo attempt in 07 but was still battling with addiction. I would say taking a self-imposed break then battling with a drug addiction is very different from falling off lmao. He didn't fall off majorly whilst still putting music out, didn't lose his talent.

He took a break. And got fucked up. Then fixed himself. Then came back.
