Back in the day? Like Infinite? Infinite was amazing with the rhymes but it didn't say anything. It was just rhymes. Two year olds can rhyme.

In SSLP, MMLP, and TES, he rhymed perfect and shitted on American culture with his social commentary. Now when he says twisted shit about Kim Kardashian, no one gives a fuck. This dude is not relevant anymore. He's just saying fucked up shit just to get a rise from people, but it's not working. It's almost like Em doesn't even understand his own genius. He doesn't know why his work is so praised.

Yeah "We Made You" and "Just Lose It" and all that are cheesy but ironically. It's not like he was trying to be cool but came out corny. That's his zany shit. He's trying to be ridiculous so it's a bit odd to say it's genuinely cheesy when that's what it's spoofing.

He rarely dumbs it down much either. He dumbs down the substance of the song maybe but stays true to the art usually. I mean the rhyming in "We Made You" isn't made for the masses.

Difference with that and say "Lollipop" is, that track is made for the masses. It's pandering to a generic sub-type within a genre and Wayne is trying to be cool but coming off as cheesy. It's not a spoof but a failure. So they're very different things.

Well back in the day, just underground. Everything from "Infinite" to the SSEP. You say he didn't say anything just because he says that about it. But in reality, it's full of punchlines and a few personal thoughts. Pretty much the same as the next two albums. Except the next two are done much better and in much more original ways.

Yes he does need to get back to social commentary but he became a serial killer on Relapse. I don't give a fuck if he's saying anything substatial or witty about society, he was just creating violent fucked up shit as an excuse to rhyme well. As not much if anything allows you to push lyricism to such visual heights as does something as extreme as murder. Perfect topic to push boundries.

I'd also say the fact he had the biggest selling rap album of 2009, has been nominated for 3 Grammy's for it, slaughtered Drake, Kanye, Wayne - Three of the biggest mainstream rappers on a track and Lil Wayne on his own album track as well as having one of the most anticipated albums of 2010... Makes him VERY fucking relevant. Indeed.

Even Eminem himself has admitted that maybe that track wasn't the right path to go down, and he was asked in an interview will he do something similiar again? His answer = "probably not"

Its mainly the accent but thats not the whole problem, as when the accent is used in the right places (such as 3AM, Stay Wide Awake, Same Song & Dance etc) it is great, but We Made You is terrible. Yes there may be a few multi's, but its a horrible song musically.

The best thing about this rubbish....is the video

I think "Just Lose It" is far far worse. I like the flow on "We Made You". The only thing unforgiveable about it for me is the fact he followed the same formula AGAIN. He used to be exciting because he was unpredictable but to do the same formula for the 5th fucking time. Shameful.

It's a little more forgiveable though considering he's killing female popstars all over the album, so it was more keeping with that theme. It's just he made it clean and less brash to be the lead-off. But I think "Taking My Ball" was the original 1st single. That's awesome and would of been way better.

The video is the worst thing about it for me. Tacky shit do be doing at 37. And yeah he just did it because they needed a clean enough single. I don't consider it that bad though. I think the lyricism is good, forget the mutlis, it's pretty good anyway.

I don't think "Drop the World" is better than any of them other than "Crack a Bottle". Em's flow and lyricism on almost every track of Relapse beats that verse, on every level and although the chorus / concept is quite cool, I still have to endure Wayne's annoying Marshian-talking in the verses.

@slimsoxshady - Lmao, yeah right. I'd be relieved and surprised if he has a verse that's not unbearable let alone the best on the album. With Em in this zone? Or even average Em. Em rapped circles around him twice and he's on the way up. And Wayne is supposedly in his prime. So how do you figure he'll have the best verse on the flipping album lmao. Especially with Royce there too. No chance.

for the first time i disagree with you. Why you hate so muck Just lose it?? Not his best but it's funny song and the video is hillarious!!! One of his funniest!! The moments that he run naked or the momenet with the old lady in the supermarcet, lmao that's classic. Maybe you don't like it couse he made fun of MJ?? idk!! It's my opinion ofcourse but i think We Made You was bad, the video is funny bud the songs sucks!! Same think with Taking My Ball - Good chorus but the rest - garbige!!! And why you hate so muck this "formula" i mean it's somethink like emblem for Em!!!

I don't like "Just Lose It" because the chorus is so fucking annoying. At first I didn't mind it but the dance beat is testing and the chorus just so irritating.

It was also the first... Seriously schematic 1st lead-off to follow the formula.

"My Name Is" was random. He just did that and is blew up. "The Real Slim Shady" he tried to duplicate that sound somewhat and came up with that. But he was being sarcastic and real and he was mentioning pop icons to separate himself from them. Since he was getting lumped in with them.

"Without Me", is just fantastic. More sarcastic shit but just epic flow and lyricism. His best of the bunch easily IMO. But it didn't feel formulaic as in... Relying on the celbrity aspect, he was just spoofing some people - He pretty much started Obama-jibes and was dissing people he had a reason to.

But then "Just Lose It" was just him totally bored with rap. He can write songs this in his sleep, it's not just throwaway, it's fucking around. It was just him falling back on the celebrity shit, relying on it for once as apposed to it being an upshot of the song. It just feels cheap. The others feel real.

And no I don't dislike it because he makes fun of MJ lmao. I remember MJ and others trying to claim this was racist!? Lmfao, totally bizarre. Just because he happens to have been black and he mentions him... The spoof had nothing to do with his race so this was just racism in itself. Absolute madness. But I don't care anyway, MJ's classic stuff is obviously groundbreaking but he was a weird guy I don't care.

But it's just the fact it was all random. He was just drawing a list as he did in "We Made You". The others either had a link or an intention behing them and the formula was an upshot not the driving force. "Just Lose It" is easily one of his worst songs. I also just don't find that type of humour funny. Stuff like falling over, slapstick, puking... Doesn't gross me out I just find it lame lol.

I smile because it's Em and I know he's just acting zany. But funniest Eminem is witty, ironic Eminem. Not fat-suit, make-up, naked or puking Eminem.

Lil Wayne could be on Relapse 2. it'll make for a dope track though, maybe Em will get his punchline game on and him and Wayne would go back and forth. that would be dope

Wayne was signed when he was 12 (1994) and put out his first solo album in 1998, first group album in 1996. idk about eminem but i think hes been rapping since 93 or 94 so there in the same era.

Vanilla Ice vs MC Hammer was dope.

How do you not like that? It was vintage Em and Proof.

but it was wack. lol its nice because of the rarity and brand new quality it had. and the fact that he had his happy go lucky style. imagine that shit on his albums

Your talking about a 12 year old wayne and a 22 year old shady back in 94? Dude come on man really?
How can you really sign someone at 12? What was his material about...puberty?

And by era we meant time of popularity and fame, you cant tell me wayne was mega popular like he is now back in 2000 :coffee:Ems era was late 90's to about 2005
