Dr. Dre Wants The "Perfect" Record For Detox

Postby lil_bayly » Jan 25th, '10, 22:29

Dr. Dre has had fans on hold for almost an enternity for the release of Detox. The good doctor recently expressed his desire to make that perfect record.

"Once that sound is right, once that mix is right, it's a feeling that you get, here -- It's unexplainable," Dre said about putting together his records. "I have to go out to clubs now...You need to understand what people are listening to. I'm working hard on it."

Another delay to the album might be him putting Detox on hold to work on other artists' music.

"I'm stopping to work on other artists in-between, but the minute it's done and I feel it right here."

Dr. Dre's ultimate goal is to craft that perfect record.

"I don't think I've done that [perfect] record yet. I'll know what it is when it comes; I know exactly what it is in my head, but I haven't done it yet. It's close...I got some sh*t coming, believe me." :y: :y: :y: :y: :y: :y:

I don't care how many people hate on me or disagree with me on this because I'm not coming back in here or responding but Dre is overrated as fuck.

I mean on Detox, he's got a shit-load of other producers working with him, has a lot of just co-productions, obviously doesn't write any lyrics but everyone knows that and he don't hide it. He's been working on the fucker since I went into puberty, ain't writing any of the tracks so the least he could do is produce everything himself.

So I mean... Okay he's making banging beats... With a fucking basketball team of other people's help and input. He's got an entire team of musicians and other great producers which all deserve just as much credit.

How is that a Dr. Dre album. He's one of many people making the beats, he ain't actually coming up with the music and coming up with none of the lyrics. Sounds more like a collaboration album with him taking all the credit.

People and he act like he's an absolute untouchable god. Two albums in 18 years, he's been 'getting this sound right' for like 6 now. He's just scarred to put it out and have it ruin his legacy. Em put three straight classics in a row out which are all 100x times Dre's two albums and Em wrote every track and produced a lot himself and within... 3 years.

N' Dre's ain't 'groundbreaking' to me as people suggest. They sound brilliant yes, clear, great beats. Done. But they're only 'groundbreaking' for introducing a new feel into hip-hop. He's not that innovative, he does the same shit everytime, even today, he doesn't experiment with his sound or evolve, until recently he over-sampled to fuck and the albums were both cliche' gangsta shit with a bunch of other rappers all explaining why Dre is a god and we must respect him. Yeah, genius.

To any cock who replies telling me I must respect Dre and just keeps stating 'all he's done' for hip-hop and yada yada, fuck you. I'm aware what Dre has done, I'm not taking away from what he's done I'm just not down with overstating it 110% like everybody else does. He introduced a new feel and has given hip-hop two albums in 18 years. And there's better producers and if not for Eminem, putting Dre on his albums, writing good shit for him and writing two now staple Dre-related songs - "Guilty Conscience" and "Forgot About Dre" he would be a lot less relevant. Okay, bye.

2Pac even said it, that Dre is getting credit for beats he often ain't making, Dre aslo steals beats like the "Kill You" one, he's also slow as fuck. And to me there are much better producers. He introduced G-Funk, okay we get it. But people act like he's Mozart. Fuck Detox.
