eminem should try writing the lyrics to a beat in his head rather than listening to the beat first & then writing the rhyme to it (which has been his approach since The Eminem Show). it worked for The Eminem Show, sure, but you can tell his first two albums were primarily beats constructed to fit lyrics, rather than the other way around.

I agree 100% with you. If he tries to write for a beat, he has to manipulate his lyrics to fit. His lyrics are incredible, untouched. (This is of course, with the exception of 3 AM, that shit was awesome.) I do think as a general rule he should go back to writing 1st/beat 2nd. Of course, he probably likes the challenge.

Eminem doesn't like his first two albums that much. For whatever reason, he prefers mirroring the beat in boring, hackneyed fashion to coming up with creative ways to flow as he did in the old days.
