exactly , i agree that u dont come into their room with a bottle of vodka and punch him in the face for a bad grade, but u definately have to give em a slap so they dont think they could shout at you...

I mean like OMG ... i see some 15 year old gurl argueing with her mother like:
" Shut up Mom! U dont know wat im going through "..
Thats just not right, u never let shit like that slide if ur a good parent.

Ofcourse u can raise ur child from the start to be like 100% polite wich is hard and it depends on the person.

Sometimes the kid just becomes uncontrolable.

i wouldn't beat a kid badly just because they were bad if a kid turns out bad you blame it on the parents for spoiling them too much when they were babies.

Dont u think that the kid that does something wrong than gets punished with a belt-asswooing know that he is being punished for sumtong he did wrong.

But I bet that the kid wasn't born like this but has developed into such a brat through a process of bad upbringing, and if his parents had set limits for him he might not have turned out this way - and I also bet that hitting him would have no effect what so ever besides getting rid of your own anger and frustrations...

i think the only reason for u to beat a kid is when he beats u like the kid inthe video but not like beat him for doin sth wrong cause mostly will grow up havin no respect to u esp if u didnt have a relation wit the kid but spoiling ur kid then realizin what a brat he 's became then start beatin him for it is not right

These days people are growing up to be big pussies. If somebody cant show some character and give they kid a real punishment ur NOT a good parent.
I understand that there are kinds of kids that gladly learn from wat they told, sometimes it just isnt the case.

I have a little sister, and wen she was about the age of 5 or so, she was always noisy disobediant, u tell her to stop but she doesnt, so my dad ones got fet up of it, gave her a few belt smacks on the ass and she was like an angel for 7 years now....

The belt doesnt really hurt that much, its called self pitty, a hild is made that way , they self pitty themselves, and if a child has grown up selfpittying himself, it definately aint gone do him any good.

Asp, but didn't you see that lady there trying to show them how to properly punish their child's wrong doing...I mean, the mother and father, and even the siblings were letting him get away with all that nonsense...and finally they had to go with the last resort of contacting a professional...I mean, it shows something when the kid screams and yells, that's normal almost most of the time...But, when you have the child kicking you, and spitting on you, and for males hitting them in the penial area Then that shows that they let the child get away with a lot, and finally they realized the error they made and were trying to correct it.......You know?

yes, that's exactly what I said - they've let him behave like this for years, and now it's impossible to reason with him - it's all due to really bad upbringing, and that's the parents' fault, not the kid's. If you set limits for your kids from the beginning they won't grow up to behave like that, and you don't need to hit them to achieve this, you just have to set limits and be consistent from the beginning.

When u say "timeout" U asume it gone work for the kid.

I was in a boarding school back in in 98 and i sure as hell remember that I gave no fuck about those timeouts, it actually is a good time for the kid to read some comics...

The belt thing: have u even felt wat its like to tell if its actually abuse.
Its not painfull as physical pain, its painfull coz the kid feels sorry for himself.

Nah, u restarted the abuse topic when u mentioned the belt I really don't care whether it hurts or not when u hit someone with a belt - no, i've never experienced it myself, but i've seen a few kids who got beaten by their parents with belts and bats and whatever, and i promise u that they experienced physical pain and they had the marks to show it.

using a belt cannot be justified anymore than using any other kind of weapon - why would it be necessary to whip somebody with anything, at least have the decency to use your hands when you abuse your kids, and yes i do think that hitting a child is abuse no matter how badly they behave -when you start hitting your kid the only thing it proves is that you've lost control... it's not okay to hit other ppl, it's classified as violence and u risk going to jail if u hit another person unless it's self-defence, so why should it be okay to hit your kid? That's not self-defense, that's just impotence. Lock them in their room, take some of their privileges away like their PlayStation or their Ipod or whatever...

btw if the kid's a "psycho" like Sarah says hitting him will definitely teach him nothing but that it's okay to be violent to other ppl so that would just escalate things
