I'm pretty sure it is or should be illegal for them to do that as you're ordering a product with them telling you it will be available by X when they have absolutely no idea and then change it to Y.

It's selling under false pretenses.

:y:

I doubt they have any better of an idea than we do.

i seem to remember hearing about the first single early march last year.

yeah well, I'm going by the day that "We Made You" was posted on Em's twitter, March 21st.

I think we did hear rumors about 'We Made You' being the first single before that though?
not sure where.

I just wish Em or someone closely associated would come out and give some sort of legit update on the status of the project. And I think he will pretty soon, the timing seems about right. Until then though, all of these reported release dates for the single and the album are just guesses when it comes down to it.

The fact that we're getting a lot of rumors and fake covers and shit HAS to be some kind of sign that R2 is finished and ready to be released....right?

Agreed, but it also is kind of a biproduct of the lack of official news that has been released, the anticipation has been built enough so that rumors are being started just to give everyone something to talk about and hope for. But it does mean that the album should atleast be in the final stages for sure.

You have a point. But I've noticed that when we get this influx of Em rumors and fake shit, it usually seems to lead to us getting some official Em news on something. Like when we get all those fake tracklists around November, not long after we were told of Refill so hopefully we'll get some news soon. I mean especially if he's gonna release the album by spring or before the summer.

No doubt. Everything that has been said has pointed to an "early" 2010 release, which I certainly hope would be atleast during spring. Maybe all of these rumors that have been going around will motivate Em to release some offical news atleast, hopefully.

Yeah and how much we him to give us tracks that rival his past work especially how we're more interested in it now especially when we were told that it was more emotionally driven and less bullshit.
All we can do is wait though..the most enjoyable part of getting music from artists.

Edit: Wow that was one hell of a run on sentence I had up there lol

I dont mind waiting,
cause honestly with shit from slaughterhouse, this new chamillionaire mixtape, Malice in wonderland & Bisd, i got enough hip hop to keep my mind off R2.

But if it does come out on may 19 again, i guess im gonna rally up my homies from last year to get wasted again and bump R2 with a shit load of Dos Equis Beer :y:

and lupe and game supposedly dropping soon (and broadening my hip hop "catalog"). I don't mind waiting either but all this TALK and anticipation about the album kinda makes you want to know something lol.

Lol yes, by far the most enjoyable part. It seems that he has put himself in a position in which he has to deliver a classic album that does, as you say, rival his past work. Simply because of all of the hype surrounding it and the expectations of his fans. If it turns out to be a let down, it will be a huge dissapoinment. Which has to serve as motivation to put out some classic material.

yup, put so much expectation and pressure on him that he has no choice but to deliver the best he can :D (which when he does is usually phenomenal).
