What if Elevator was R1's first single? Would it sell more, would it get more positive reception...?

Beautiful is not my personal favorite but it would definitely made a good first single, simply because it's what people expect to hear from his 'comeback', with mature lyric and stuff.

The video would've been good for Elevator, hell breaks loose done better than elevator so i don't think it would have done better than we made you. But its a much better song.

I think if Elevator was Relapse's first single, then it would've sold more, and it would've got us, the fans, more excited for the album. I wonder what the video would be like for that song though? I think Beautiful should have been released as the first single, or a video for Old Time's Sake, they would've gotten more hype.

Honestly, pretend nothing has been released for Relapse, then Careful What You Wish For comes out, i think that would have been the best first single after his long time gone, especially with the intro being the way it is.

Honestly, pretend nothing has been released for Relapse, then Careful What You Wish For comes out, i think that would have been the best first single after his long time gone, especially with the intro being the way it is.

Never thought of that but it would have been perfect. As you say, the intro would explain where he's been, they would have had to add another verse though, it's too short for a single..

I very much agree that HELLO should of been the first single, We made you feels like an odd late addition to the album.

Beautiful would of had a stronger impact & more radio play.

I personally like 3.am & its probably the most popular track since his comeback.... Only hardcore Em fans hate that track.

I think Em/Interscope learnt their lesson this time, the complex interview touches on this subject.
