Do You Think Em Listens To His Own Music??

I was just wondering about whether he listens to his own songs or prefers other peoples stuff, i know ive heard him say he likes other rappers like T.I. n stuff but never really thought about if he would listen to his own stuff, what do you reckon?

Well of course. But I doubt he puts himself on in his car or ipod when walking around or running.

He listens to himself all the time, constantly playing tracks back for perfection but the fact he said that he went back and listened to SSEP and SSLP and MMLP etc. indicates to me that the last time he heard them properly was when he made them. Since he 'went back'.

I'm sure when he makes new material, even after it's perfected he gives it a few spins and entertains himself but when you create something you're there from start to finish creating it so by the time he finishes a song, he's probably already heard it 100 times.

So I doubt there's a desire to keep playing it, it feels old to him by the time it feels new to us.

Also, when it's YOU, it's often not as entertaining or good to you as it is to others. If you make a movie with actors and dialogue etc. it's an external creation so that's different. But this is all him, his voice, his thoughts, he created it and it's HIM lmao so it probably doesn't feel as exciting to hear himself as it does for us to hear him.

I know because I'm a good card magician and when I used to make videos and spend hours perfecting the performance... It'd look good to me but never amazing. Well obviously the trick itself wouldn't look as amazing because I know how I'm doing it but even the finished performance, well that probably is to do with being a perfectionist as other people would tell me it's perfect but I could still see 100 flaws. But people comment all the time still like "WOW HOLY SHIT" and I just find it odd because it doesn't induce even close to that reaction from watching myself.

So it's kind of odd. I bet he feels the same. I'm sure he's very proud of his music when he makes it but I bet when somebody is like "FUCK ME THAT'S GENIUS" he knows why they're saying that but can't fully appreciate their perspective or passion for it, because... It's him. You know.

Of course not!!! How EmBase said the artists never whatch/listen their own shits!!! Do you know how time you spend to creat a song for example, do you know how much you gotta listen it to the final cut!! It's my opinion of course

The only time he listens to his own stuff is probably when making the album and perhaps going over it a few times once complete. I don't think he really listens to his older stuff much.

I think he honestly wouldn't have much time to listen to himself that much while he is making music besides that specific music, like r2 shit now, other than that i think he is too busy to just chill bumpin mmlp

I was suprised with the first few comments. I can hardly imagine Em listening to his music, with the amount he hears them in recording and stuff. He said he hates My Name Is and some of his early stuff but I'm sure he likes stuff since then but I bet he'd rather listen to other artists than himself.

you're in it while making it and when it feels finished, you put it aside. and some later - for his tour or to check his devolpment - you dig it out again

that's at least the way I'm doing: I write my stories and read them over and over again til I know every word by heart and think "ok, that's the way it's working well" and after years I go back and read them again just out of my own curiosity to renew my memories of what I've done so far
and it's always feeling weird hearing people say, they like that stuff but it's good

If you mean does he listen to himself a lot for reasons other than proof-listening, i doubt it.
