R2 voice/flow

Postby Alaine » Feb 14th, '10, 22:05

yes, another prediction thread :coffee:

I've been thinking, if Em done the whole (or most of) album with the fast flow like in Forever/Drop the world, is that a good thing? What I'm afraid is the OVERUSE of that flow. I mean sure it sounded cool in those 2 verses, but hearing the whole album filled with that flow is as tired as hearing a fulled accent album.

Well, not like I know for that he'll use that flow in R2 for sure, but knowing that when Em's obsessed/interested in something, he keep using/doing it (latest example must be the Kangol hat he's been wearing since July last year  )
Relapse would have been better if he got rid of the accent in some songs, instead of overusing it. I really hope he realize the mistake of overusing one option and keep the voice/flow in balance for R2 (switches flow/voice like he did in the past, I know he's capable of that) :b:

Accent, DTW flow, fucking Barney voice for all I care,
just ANYTHING but his prepubescent SSLP voice.

I think it'll be a vary of flows and styles.

I think one to three different actual voices, I think he's probably largley dropped the induction of more foreign sounding bending of words / accents due to mixed reaction.

But I still think due to the fact all he's focusing on is writing and flowing now we'll hear a vast variety like on Relapse with each flow fitting beautifully to the beat.

That's definitely the plus side of his new focus. His flows. They're sharper than ever and totally magic.

he is able to change that, we have two examples in relapse, the two bonus tracks, he does not use the same accent of the other tracks, he does the voice of the past.
Agree?

To girls it probably sounds "cute" right?

Well to me it sounds pussy.

And Alaine, yes he can. He did it in his "stick my penis in a light socket" interview.

Yeah, you're right on that. That was nis natural voice, but it slowly deepened.

Well, that's because you're an insecure idiot and your opinions suck.

SSLP was by far and away his best album.

I take it you won't be listening to AZ or Talib Kweli any time soon...

that's true, in technical side no one fucking with him now. But he shouldn't be using just one flow, even if it's a good flow.

he still uses the high-pitched voice because his tone is high, but the natural nasal voice is gone :'(

His switched his flow on throughout songs on all his albums so I wouldnt expect any problem.

I'm not really sure what you mean by this... He switches his flow up plenty of times on Relapse. he switches it on individual songs for christ sakes. And you seem to be saying that flow and voice are the same thing? Can you explain that please? :y:

in Relapse I meant to talk about his voice only as I mentioned the accent. The accent is clearly overused in Relapse. But about R2 I was talking about the flow as I mentioned his 2 newest verses with fast flow. My point is that either it's voice or flow, he shouldn't overuse it.

Cheers for clearing that up. But just cus he's rapped similar in two tracks doesn't give any hints that 15 more tracks will be like that. When he hears a beat I'm sure he just chooses a flow that he think suits the beat; like he said that he rapped Forever quickly as he interpeted the beat like that whereas the others didn't.

And I think he uses a few different accents on Relapse. People always say "the accent" but for me, his voice on Stay Wide Awake is far different to We Made You which is different to 3AM.
