Encore vs. Relapse

I always rank Relapse above Encore, but in some ways Encore is the better. It has the more serious tracks of the two (discluding bonus songs):

Encore-
Mockingbird
Mosh
Yellow Brick Road
Like Toy Soldiers
(Crazy In Love?)
Never Enough

Relapse-
Beautiful
Deja Vu

But Encore's bad songs are very bad, in my views and really weigh down what could've been an ace album.

i like encores production sooooooooooooooo much more... his lyrics werent as complex but truethfully i liked encore more... to me it seemed like we got alot of mixed material and i liked that alot more than the serial killer concept throughout the whole album... relapse was dope but it seemed like he was just warmin up...

I wouldn't say that. He had songs good songs on there which I listed on my OP. I will say I got tired of his serial killer theme on Relapse.

Relapse is the better album but Encore is nowhere near as bad as people make out IMO.

It's just a mixed bag in comparison to his previous and there's no way he could of seriously thought he topped TES when he put the finishing touches on Encore so it's just laziness.

But the only actual bad songs on Encore for me are "Just Lose It" and "Ass Like That". "One Shot 2 Shot" ain't great either. Then you have some which shouldn't be there but aren't bad tracks IMO. I actually love "Rain Man" and "Big Weenie".

But if he had made it more politically driven. Left the original tracks there. It would of been a much better album and not viewed as a flop in any sense of the word. But Encore still has some of his most mature lyricism too. It was an evolution in that sense and it still has some very good showcasing of skills.

I was listening to relapse today, and I have had it grown on me, I like the full album and I think there is more to it when you listen to it in order. I also listened to some encore a few weeks ago, I like it more than I used to, but I still think Relapse is a better album by a lot
