I respect wayne cause of his work ethic and the way he runs his business. But lyrically he's better off writing rhymes for andy milonakis. Dont get me wrong, wayne has several badass joints, but he's not up there to EVER be called the greatest

Now look at it from em's point. The dude grew up in a black community, broke, with a kid, he battle rapped to get where he is today. The dude was owning rap Olympics left and right, and it took him till he was in his late 20's to get signed.

As for wayne, he had his shit given to him in his hand by baby....being signed at age 12? come man :shakehead: Wayne couldnt battle rap to save his life. Thats why i dont like wayne, cause he was never really there.........lyrically. Thats why its sad, cause wayne is all about dope hooks and a bass rich beats. Same goes to other now a day "rappers" like gucci mane, soulja, flo rida. Have them come out to battle em, battle nas, battle canibus and they just cant.

Of course. Em fans tend to be a lot more into the lyrics. Really analyzing every word. Whereas wayne fans are more into the whole lifestyle imitation type thing.

the only time he comes close to good is "Tie My Hands," the Katrina song.

i knew the twist to "Dr Carter" (that he's saving hiphop) as soon as i heard the first two lines. played-out concept.

Wayne is terrible. he does not deserve the critical or commercial credit he garners.

the only thing i was slightly impressed about was the emotion in his delivery (especially in the song Playing with Fire).

Your on shit then. TC3 was a mainstream classic (not his best lyrically album) it has great lyrical wordplay all the way thought btw if you just listen to wayne the other day your not going to understand of like what hes say. it took me 11 years to get a compelete understanding

I can pretty much guarantee that Eminem's fans are older than Wayne's fans on average, per capita.
Young people, for the most part, are easily swayed by the trend at the moment.
Eminem had that going for him at the beginning of the 21'st century, that's why he was so inhumanly popular at the time.
Wayne's time will pass, just like Eminem's time did.
Only then can we truly compare the veracity of the two camps.

It's all personal preference. I do believe a lot of people think it's "uncool" to like Em. It's the sad truth. Also, our generation has not exactly been graced with loads of good music and have grown up with and exposed to complete rubbish. It has to do a lot with marketing, hype and exposure. People like wayne because he's has confidence and has pretty much presented himself as "the best rapper alive". Do i think that is true? HELL NO. He sings about complete nonsense. But PERSONALLY, i put more stock in lyrical content and production than I do in "Hot Radio Tracks". That differs from person to person. As it's been stated on here before. It's all personal preference, theres not right or wrong.

I got a good friend that is a wayne fanatic and we getting into the Em v.s. Wayne debate all the time. What I notice a lot of the time not only with him but a lot of wayne and Em fans is that we all believe that our favored artist is the best at the moment. I'm sure most people on the board think Em is the best there is, while of course big wayne fans think the same about him. So ofcourse there's going to be controversy there.

Also Lilwayne4life, no disrespect but could you give an example of a certain songs that you had a hard time trying to understand because I've listened to a lot of wayne and have never had a problem. I think he tries to sound all philosophical and it might come off confusing but I just think that it doesn't make sense and thats why you cant understand it.

That's a great point.
LilWayne4Life may be trying to make something out of nothing for the sake of his understanding.
