dont jump on me when i say this this... but i saw some of the extras on 8 mile's dvd and one of the people on the set said they always had music playin and he said some of the songs were for his next album encore... i think that the first six songs were from around the 8 mile period.... songs like big weenie and ass like that he was probs already crazy pill poppin eminem

Relapse was a great concept album, but I didn't like the content.
Encore was nice, but not that great.

Nope. i've seen the interview you're talking about (with Brittany Murphy) and she just got the album titles mixed up. The songs she was referring to were probably for The Eminem Show.

Also, the songs speak for themselves. In 2002 Eminem would never make a song a tenth as crappy as any song from Encore.

Lyrically yes Relapse blows Encore out of the water, music-wise it's about a draw. If I had to pick which one i'd rather listen to right now? Probably Encore. Songs like Never Enough, Evil Deeds, Yellow Brick Road, Mosh, Spend Some Time plus bonus tracks like We As Americans, and Ricky Ticky Toc all have more replay value than just about anything on Relapse. If i'm looking for some crazy horrorcore rap or w/e i'll put in Relapse but in no way is it a more enjoyable album music-wise if anyone disagrees i'd like to hear your thoughts.

Opinions does not imply whether you are a true em fan.

I think it's safe to say that it's a universal opinion, meaning that a lot of people in the world, and on here, recognize Encore as Em's worst album. The majority of Em fans believe this. A lot of Em fans don't like Relapse either, but they recognize it as a better album as a whole than Encore. There are very few people I know who will say Encore is a better album. Encore was a poppy album, his most mainstream one, and usually fans hate when their favorite artists "sell out". Even though Em technically "sold out" before Encore, Encore is the album with all the poppy songs. Relapse, on the other hand, is the exact opposite. It has some catchy tunes, but they have more substance than the ones on Encore

Not trying to start an argument, I'm just saying. I didn't even mean much by that statement, I just needed to say something, so I said that. But there are a lot of huge Eminem fans who will most likely say Relapse is the better album. Sorry if I offended you

don't worry...I wasn't offended

unfortunately, I cannot agree that Relapse is a better album than Encore. I hate 50% of the songs in Relapse and most of the songs are non sense (in my opinion). I think that em sold Relapse because of his come back....otherwise the album wouldn't have been a success.

Encore, definitely.
Relapse is better musically, but Encore has more vitality.

Encore had much better songs and replay value (Spend Some Time, Like Toy Solidiers, Mockingbird) but also some terrible, awful, unplayable songs to go with it. i think relapse was a much better album as a whole (concept-wise) and more consistent. Although it had little replay value and bad content. But neither is very good as a whole.

How was Encore great in any way at all?

His voice was awful, he couldn't write for shit, and the beats sucked.

how was his voice awful? yes his flow sounded boring sometimes but his voice sounded good to me, miles better than the accent in Relapse. The beats sound like TES throwaway but Relapse beats are not something to be proud of either, more Dre's predictable stale beats :coffee:

Ok well...first of all..I just wanna say fuck you to all the peopke who say they hate encore..cuz its not a bad album...it has a lot of very good songs...ass like that is really the only bad one...

A little relapse goes a long way...there's only so much murder and drug talk I can listen to at a time...encore has a way better selection of songs

I've been listening to relapse a lot more lately..but today I'm gunna throw on encore :)

The original encore was supposed to have we as americans, bully, love you more, and come on in/6 in the morning (with D12)...

Replace we as americans with ass like that

Bully with big weenie

IMO crazy in love is better then love you more

And replace one shot 2 shot with come on in...

Right there that's a great album

But idk I like em both...ill just say I like em the samne :/
