Insult to Injury

Do you think we're ever going to hear this, the 'sequel to underground', or was it one of the tracks that was supposed to be on the original Relapse 2 that got scrapped? I've read the Alchemist interview about it and its not that clear as to what batch of songs this track belonged to. Anyone got any other info on it?

I won't be surprised if it was scrapped. The first and last time we heard about it was in July.

I don't think there's any doubt that it was among the old batch of material, it was discuss as being finished before anything was mentioned about Em redueing the album. The real question if that is the case is why wasn't it on Refill

Well Alchemist said in a more recent interview when it was reported about Eminem working with other producers outside the camp that as of now none of his beats had made the cut for the album but he felt like he was getting close. So that makes it sound like Insult to Injury must have been a track that was scrapped.

it can make sense. Alchemist may have really liked Insult to Injury, but em may have preferred Music Box/Buffalo Bill etc or he thought ITI just wasn't good enough to be in the top 6 tracks.

I don't get how people are finding this confusing

-Eminem released Relapse and had enough material from his sessions with Dre to release another album to be released at the end of the year

-Alchemist says in July 2009 that on R2, there will be a song called 'Insult To Injury' a sequel to Underground.

-A couple of months later Em says he has scrapping R2 for a more emotionally driven album, therefore Insult to Injury will be one of the tracks scrapped.

-However Em says he will release Refill, a hold off until R2 is released in 2010. It would contain Relapse plus 6 tracks from the "original R2". Em chose, what he felt was his best 6 tracks for the fans. Insult to Injury obviously wasn't one of them.

It was only hyped becuase it was the only track we knew the name of. If Alchemist had said Buffalo Bill was a track it would have been just as hyped.
