MikeNufc wrote:I don't get how people are finding this confusing

-Eminem released Relapse and had enough material from his sessions with Dre to release another album to be released at the end of the year

-Alchemist says in July 2009 that on R2, there will be a song called 'Insult To Injury' a sequel to Underground.

-A couple of months later Em says he has scrapping R2 for a more emotionally driven album, therefore Insult to Injury will be one of the tracks scrapped.

-However Em says he will release Refill, a hold off until R2 is released in 2010. It would contain Relapse plus 6 tracks from the "original R2". Em chose, what he felt was his best 6 tracks for the fans. Insult to Injury obviously wasn't one of them.

wrestler1256 wrote:I think if ITI was one of the choices for Refill it wouldve been on their, due to how hyped it was

It was only hyped becuase it was the only track we knew the name of. If Alchemist had said Buffalo Bill was a track it would have been just as hyped.

Still, if it really is something of a sequel to Underground, I'd love to hear it, as Underground had a wicked feel to it...

Damn all those tracks locked in the Shady vault! :tounge2:

Clearly at this point Em has ALOT of songs that are not gonna end up making R2, it would be nice if he released some of them just for the hell of it

yea it would be smart too. It would give them a chance to see feedback on some tracks and help make the process of choosing the final cut for R2 easier. Plus if they are good it would hype R2 more. Only good can come from it. Even if the tracks are bad, good singles for R2 would make no1 care about some tracks he released that weren't that good.

Exactly. Even if the tracks aren't up to par with the expectations, I think people would just be happy to hear some new stuff from Em. And since they would be tracks that won't appear on R2, the thinking would be that the tracks that are on R2 will be better anyway.

But what Em does best is get everyone hungry for his album. By not releasing mixtapes or appearing on loads of artist's albums and shit, like other artists do, he gets everyone so exited for every little rumour, so by the time the album is out everyone is at bursting point for it. He's done ot throughout his career. The only time you'll hear his unreleased stuff is when he retires or dies.

I still think releasing a track or a couple tracks would be good for him and R2. He has to re-prove himself to the public. Though the majority of Em fans like Relapse, there are so many rap fans who think it was horrible and Em fell off. And Refill had the same vibe as Relapse. Forever and Drop the World are helping him, but a lot of people are not convinced enough to buy R2. He will sell 600k+ 1st week guaranteed, probably 800k+ if the singles are good. I think people not only want good singles from R2, but that old vibe that Em got when he was releasing a bunch of diss tracks towards Ja and Benzino. Something to make him more of a permanent fixture in rap fans minds.

Yeah, I dont think Em is near the point of overloading himself on the public because of the way he has handled it throughout his career. I just dont see how releasing a few songs in preparation for the album would be a negative thing. Atleast it would get people talking about some actual concrete stuff instead of just speculating. From all accounts he is creating some high quaility music, there is always room for good songs.

IMO, the bonus disk on Refill should have contained more, what REALLY REALLY annoyed me was that the MP3 version of Refill had CWYWF and My Darling, it wouldn't have cost anymore to add those on the disk, and if what he said was true about making about 3 albums worth, the bonus disk should have been filled with 17-18 songs, accent or not. I know it would of seemed like another whole album, but you can't tide fans over with FIVE new songs.

I'm really greatful we got Refill, it turned out that we're eventually going to get 2 albums and 9 songs since his return (not including songs like the warning, chemical warfare or appearences).

BUT the refill bonus disk was a serious waste of disk space, they didn't even use half the memory, and they so easily could have, and it would have made us a hell of a lot happier (accent or not cause he changed direction and Refill would've just been a continuation of the zany Relapse feel).

Infact, did he not say he was just about done when he changed direction? the bonus disk should have been the original Relapse 2 with the "goodbye" song saved for the new Relapse 2 along with maybe another couple special ones he wanted to go out on.

Refill could've been really special, now it's going to always be remembered as a quick way to get us to part with our cash :n: , and what makes it worse is we probably wont ever get to hear those lost songs, maybe when he dies, but I probably wont appreciate his music as much when I'm a pensioner.

I'm perplexed as to why he never let's us hear the songs that don't make the final cut to his CDs. :-k

Refill was the biggest cash in ever. I was never going to buy that CD. Why he didn't release it as a free mixtape or a 2 quid CD or something I'll never know. Interscope must have know most Em fans have Relapse so to put the whole of Relapse on again and to make fans fork out an extra 10 pound for FIVE new songs was a disgrace.
