As long as Eminem continues to make music, he will be relevant the #1 selling rapper out. Lil Wayne still needs chart topping hits to stay on top. I honestly don't see Wayne selling a milli first week ever again. He just had so much momentum going into C3 that it's never gonna be matched again. I don't see Eminem selling a milli first week either. In fact, I could see it selling 100k less first week than Relapse while selling more in the long run if it's a better album.

So no, I don't find it 'odd'. Number of records you sell isn't just dependant on having a #1 fucking single. He was the poster boy / devil's advocate / #1 enemy of America for years, he captured the zeitgeist, he's in another league to lame fucks who make music just to be catchy. Lil Wayne is the headline of the week, Eminem is a headline in history. And don't forget, "Lose Yourself" was his only US #1 single until then but many of his songs were close and still huge.

"The Real Slim Shady" - #4, "Without Me" - #2, "Cleaning Out My Closet" - #4. "Stan" only got to 50 fucking 1 and look at the level of influence that created. The charts don't mean shit. What a ridiculous thread.
