He's not saying that you're not allowed to post your opinion, he's saying it's not fair for you to post it in a place that isn't meant for debating.
By not fair, I mean that it's a win-win for you. If someone doesn't like your post, they may decide against debating in the news section, but since you managed to offend them and give them no chance to reply, you win. If someone doesn't like your post, but decides to attack it, you can just pull the "this isn't the debate section" card and end it without actually debating. Again, you win.

And after seeing your edit, you have a responsibility not to start anything now.
