Obviously if it was so easy to change minds..... however, the fact that every religion from animism to polytheism to monotheism nowadays has the same roots same lore same pretty much background, shows a collective human memory about events that happened when the human race was nothing more than 1.000 people gathered in Africa, that passed on to us from elders to younger.
