And Relapse wasn't? Hack, half of Relapse was overused, tiring serial killer material.

:y: more like 2/3 actually. I don't see how anyone can call Relapse an inspirational album.

:worship: Someone who finally agrees.

King Mathers would probably be reminiscint of his Re-Up material, imo. I can picture a dark, biographical, depressed album. From what Em had said himself, I could picture everything just being depressing and angry. Perhaps some songs that would be fairly similar to ''No Apologies'' and ''Beautiful''.

The thing is.....if the album was released, I can picture people complaining about Em 'whining' to much about his life. I still say he should gather some songs from King Mathers and the Original Relapse 2 and package it as a mixtape. Have Whoo Kidd host it and keep the fans held over a little bit while we wait for R2.

his voice, especially on the chorus, sounds like Encore era. Also, I thought Elevator stood out from the other songs on Refill.

who the fuck really believes Em would ever call one of his albums "king mathers"
and I surelly don't want another TES or whatever in that row. I mean, he had said all the things he could've said. he should come up with new themes

and the titel "king mathers" (and I really doubt that there ever was the real thought of it) sound's like this gangster-shit that was around the last years - and I'm sick of that

No it wasn't.

His old stuff he occasionally would act like a madman or carry a psycho theme but on Relapse he totally assumed the role of a serial killer. He's not done that before.

Also it's about how you do it. The way he did it, his style etc. was totally new.

I doubt Em's team would be happy with Ca$his just chatting lies. He quite clearly wouldn't just risk doing that. Ca$his just said Em scrapped it all.

Which, a public news report confirmed - Em just didn't ever admit he was working on anything or about to release an album but he did scrap a bunch of material. Which he even says himself. And he says "Beautiful" is the only one from 'that batch' (King Mathers) he kept for Relapse.

Um, I dunno why you put "Elevator" there though. That's very much in his new style. Spitfire, energetic, lots of rhyming, psychotic, that was originally going to be on the 'original' Relapse 2.

As for whether it would of been better. I think no. I'm definitely annoyed I didn't get to hear it in its full form, I think "My Darling", "No Apologies" (and all Re-Up) performance, "Beautiful" and "Careful What You Wish For" are a good indicator to how it all would of sounded.

On the plus side, it was all Em's production, which I much much prefer, often using strings and dark echoey atmospheric sound to fully realize the vision. It would of been very slow, depressive... No doubt it would of been received better by some people just because of the "no fucking accent man!" and obviously better with critics since they're suckers for emotion.

But no doubt that in rap and technical terms, Relapse is better. I'm definitely glad he did go that way anyway. I wouldn't wanna be without Relapse and we wouldn't have Relapse 2 to come :) Or we might but... The chain of events would of been different.

Should of released King Mathers in 2007, then he could of done Relapse 1 and 2... Although that bugs me because you can't ensure... Everything has a knock on effect, no idea what would of happened... I mean it could of spiraled him back into... Argh, hate shit like this. Okay, I'm out.

agree :y: :y: ...I`m pretty sure there was King Mathers and it was dope...but Em didnt like it

I think it was a real album, and like people have said in here, it was going to come out around the 2006-2008 time period. I want to make a "what if" King Mathers CD to play. What songs should be on it from that time period, after Encore, but before the records on Relapse? I have

-Beautiful
-Careful What You Wish For
-No Apologies
-My Darling
-Public Enemy # 1

what else? could be any records he was on, or featured on in that time period. :y: Thanks.

I can get why you put Elevator in that list!! It's obviasly a new track, i don't think there were old tracks for the original R2!!
King Mathers was a big rumor, i'm sure Cashis ain't bullshiter and he meaned somethink when he said about his album, and Em said by hisself that he never stoped working during his drug period! How EmBase said the songs like Beautiful, My Darling, CWYWF give us a good view what King Mathers suposted to be. But i can get why he's sraped all songs!! A highly depretion man can't creat so good songs, like a sober one. I debout there would be classic, but i'll wish heard'em one day

I'm glad he picked Relapse, if the whole KM thing was true. From what I've heard of the material it sounds as if it would have had a TES feel - an album which which we've all heard - Relapse was fresh and something new.

The best artists switch their style from album to album.

theres def a whole load of tracks he made during 2006-2008 that he hasnt released....i remember him saying there was 100s.....

it would be interesting to hear them, but theres a reason he has chosen not to release them, its likely there not up to the normal eminem standard.....i no beautiful is awesome but doesnt mean they will all be that standard
