Did Eminem mature too quickly?

I feel like he could have given us a second classic album after The Marshall Mathers LP before following it up with the Eminem Show.

If he had released an album in 2001, he would have been able to keep up the crazy white boy ish but he did the right thing by maturing. "3rd times a charm" doesnt apply to his situation. plus he was on probation and was forced into sobriety so that prolly made him take a step back and gave him time to reflect.
but IMO, he should hav done one more drugged up LP before he went on to reflecting about life, fame and whatnot. but if he did, then i'd prolly hate Relapse even more..

and no, MMLP is infinitely greater than TES.

Never said it wasn't. I have something of a tossup in choosing between The Eminem Show and the Marshall Mathers LP. One thing I am sure of is that songs like Sing For the Moment and Say Goodbye Hollywood hit home harder than nearly all songs on Marshall Mathers. What I'm saying is he could have put out another album between the two with a ton of material that would have been great. Instead he "broke out" with the MMLP and then instantly matured with TES. SSLP as a whole wasn't nearly as good as the other two for me.

eminems different on every cd if u havnt noticed... its not neciceraly that he "matured", he just switches his style on every cd

ive always thought Em could have came out with another album similar to the MMLP style. if you listen to Devils Night, all his lyrics are versus that imo fit into the MMLP style. it really just comes down to him going back to detriot and getting his friends. if he didnt do that im sure he would of had another album out before TES.

and yes, MMLP is 10000X better then TES. SSLP and MMLP will forever be his best work. that style is so unique and that is what hooked me as an Eminem fan. not TES or 8 Mile. TES to me was too mainstream.
I wanted an album so rugged nobody could touch it
Spend a million a track and went over my budget
Now how in the fuck am I supposed to get out of debt?
I can't rap anymore - I just murdered the alphabet
