this shit if fire, hook is nuts...Boi-1da is nice on the beats from what i've heard. I think this is easily a top 10 Billboard hit and isn't on that girly soft shit like i thought it was gonna be so thats a pleasant surprise.

Beat was okay-ish, hook was horrible (from the comments it seems to be a love it or hate it kinda thing) and he seemed to be trying way too fucking hard to sound as much like Wayne as he could. I find Drake boring, he's a decent rapper but his songs are just boring.

I think it's fucking awful man.

I've been trying to figure out what everyone loves about Drake and so far I can't.

Not from stuff like this certainly. I just think it sounds awful, sounds exactly like what every other commercial wannabe is trying to do in this era, doesn't sound unique or exciting or skillful.

this is more unique than you think, plus its a good message and not just about shawties in the club...i think most people were expecting an rnb first single

I think it is unique and I agree, I woulda expected something else, not this. But the verses were boring, didn't sound right at all with that beat, and the change into the hook, to me it was not something for a song on an album, whoever said street single you're right, that's what this shoulda been. I really don't wanna listen to this ever again, and yeah 2nd verse his voice he sounded a lot like wayne, kinda stupid

EDIT: I just played it for my roommate, he asked if it was wayne after I told him it was Drake

Well it sounds awful to me.

The verses are lame IMO, most of the lyrics are exactly what you said they're not, they're cliche'.

Whatever, each to their own, he's not my cup of tea though. I think he's terrible. BEEEN EVVERRYYWHEERE BBBAABBBAAAAAYYYYY lmao. Sounds like Trey Parker on South Park on the episode where they take the piss out of the Jonas Brothers and at the end of every other line it's BABBBBABBBBBABAAAAYYY.

Pre-Wayne Drake is good. Now all his music is the same, boring crap.

No it's not closed-mindedness. It's just a need for high-quality. Nothing wrong with that.

And it's not exclusive to Eminem. It's the case with any #1 or groundbreaking artist in any field.

I do the same with comedy with Ricky Gervais. I can't help it. Once I saw The Office (UK) that was it... No other comedies came CLOSE so trying to enjoy anything else that didn't... Just impossible.

It's not a choice. It's just once you have the best... Trying to settle for less is naturally very hard, for me, impossible. Also, not needed.

I can settle for less if it's unique, better in some other way. Like... I don't think Larry David is as good as Gervais but he is in fact better in other respects. And Curb Your Enthusiasm is funny for totally different reasons, it's groundbreaking in different ways.

But unless other material from that other than the 'king' of such a field is like that, SUPERB for another reason then no it's not enjoyable.

For example... I don't consider B.o.B better than Eminem. But he's EXTREMELY talented in what he does. It's not comparable because it's very very different and extremely refreshing for different reasons. But people like Drake are doing (in my opinion) very uninteresting, uninspiring, unoriginal, bland music. It's not refreshing, challenging, breathtaking... It's nothing.

A rapper doesn't have to rhyme like crazy if that's not the point of his music just like it's not B.o.B's but they have to have something else which defines them to be great. Drake doesn't have anything to me.

I just wanted to ignore Drake, 'cause he appeared to me like another mainstream-bitch and I don't like people with so overall hypes in their backs

and now I sit here, was like: hear it, that you know who this boy is everyone talks about
and I'm wondering, what the fuck had he said? :confusion: I really had to read the subtitles to get the words he said and I still don't get it - and please, can someone stop this fucking autotune or was it his real voice? it's so squeaky -.- be a man, man

and I was right from the beginning: I don't like him
