Poker jackpot stolen

BERLIN -- German police say a heavily armed group has stormed a poker tournament at a Berlin luxury hotel and made off with a jackpot.

Several people were slightly injured when they panicked and fled.

A police spokesman says four robbers wearing disguises forced employees at the Berlin Grand Hyatt to hand over money, and then managed to escape.

One report quoted witnesses as saying the robbers were armed with automatic weapons, machetes and hand grenades.

Police declined to give details, including how much money the men got away with.

The jackpot for the tournament stood at more than a million dollars, according to a European Poker Tour Web site.
