I wish they would go back to the old 2D, platform layout used in the old Nintendo games.

It's a really good opinion most game developers fucking ignore, which I hate man. You see, if Pokemon is 3D, I won't play it at all man.

I mean, people who prefer the old way games were made are usually the people who grew up playing them. I mean, I grew up with nintendo and shit but I was real young, so I was able to adapt just fine, but someone who was maybe 8-12 when the nintendo came out might have played those games in his/her teen years so is just used to it and thus, prefers them.

The only reason I ask is cuz I have older siblings and cousins who still think street fighter for the nintendo was the best game ever. Or mortal kombat. Or super mario 3 (actually, super mario 3 just may be the best game ever)

But anyways, your statement in this thread and all your statements in others makes me believe you are in your late 20's early 30's. 28-32 : Am I wrong?

@ gutawafang - final fantasy doesnt ignore character development. Well, maybe with ff12. but, ff10 - 8 - and 7 were amazing and I think the character development was great

^ Yeah, I know FFXIII developers do not ignore the storyline and the character development. I'm in a Final Fantasy forum.

I'm just saying games as a whole. See, like Pokemon, it makes lots of people not care about it anymore because the game is always the same. Emerald was the last best one. After that, everything about pokemon sucks.

Nevertheless, I personally like 3d and 2d games equally. Fighting games should be in 2d while RPG in 3d, preferrably.

I didn't even play games when I was young. I didn't really fall in love with old games till a few years ago. It has absolutely nothing to do with nostalgia, I legitimately think old, platform RPGs are better than most of what's out today.
Ugh, and I thought FFX was one of the worst games I've ever played. I wanted to jump into my tv and mutilate every character for being so fucking obnoxious and poorly portrayed (except Jecht).
A great story means nothing if I hate the characters in the first place.
I hated X, I hated X-2, I hated XI (if it even counts), and I hated XII, so... I don't even know if I'll be playing XIII.

^ Generally, we all have different tastes in game. We like certain games that others may not. For instance, I personally don't like FPS games although I'm forced to play sometimes. LOL. And I like Dota Warcraft and I believe no one here on this site likes it.

Fighting games can go either way for me - but the only fighting game I really like now a days is tekken, but I dont even play that anymore.

The last pokemon game I played was pokemon snap for the 64. It boggles my mind how people enjoy pokemon after the age of 12. but to each their own.

How the hell can you be apart of a FF forum and not be interested in ffxii?

After I played ff8 I wouldnt be able to miss one for the life of me - when 12 came out, I went out and bought a playstation just so I could play it.....

@GGGG - I guess im not good at guessing peoples ages over the internet.
I cant see how people didnt like 10. personally, besides the not being able to go anywhere other than the certain path, I thought that game was the tits. I like the characters and I liked the pre-technology theme. FFX-2 sucked major dick. I never played XI cuz, it does count and XII was short, but I loved the battle system. 8 was amazing. 9 was decent - 7 was good but not as good as everyone says it is.

And to be honest, I never played a FF game before 7 because im the opposite of you, I cant stand playing a game with lesser graphics then whats available at the time

I've completed FFXII twice fyi.

I think I like it.

And yeah, Tekken is the shiz. I got it on PSP. And also I got King of Fighters(2D) on PSP.

I'll be playing FFXIII when I go to my friend's hous this weekend.

p.s. - this game is in a very technological world so far. Im not sure how much I like that, since my favorite thing about ffx was the pre-tech/religious theme.

@guta - yeah ffxii was good, like I said, i loved the battle system but other people hated it.

They kind of blending the old style fighting system with the ffxii fighting system in this one.

Its real time but you actually go into a battle scene rather than just runnin up to people and attacking. I like it....

It reminds me of ffx-2 , but that was a long time ago so Im not sure how similar it is.
