Anyway, it's even less likey to be on May 25 like they were saying. They just anounced Nas&Damian Marley's album dropping that day, and Def Jam would know if EM was dropping his and would never put Nas on the same day.

Only slimsoxshady was saying that. Dunno why everyone would believe him.

It doesn't matter for EM but it'd be pretty bad for Nas, he has a lotta problems connecting to the general public anyway, let alone with EM on the same day. Plus they officially put it out today and had a few songs released already ya know. Well still can't be sure so we can just wait until then.

I have a different theory about this. If you were paying attention last year, Meth and Red dropped Blackout 2 on May 19 and Busta Rhymes dropped BOMBS on May 19 as well. Both albums sold more than expected, especially B2. B2 did like 65k and BOMBS around 55k. They hyped this as the big day in hip hop with 3 major albums dropping, and it turned out well for all 3.
We'll just have to see how it plays out this year but i'm still sticking to my date.

I been waitin for tpains new album for a while (no need to hate on the man, im just making a point) and havent heard anything, then all of a sudden in the past 3 days it is set to be released in the next month or 2. They are saying april. Went from no news, to its coming next month in a day.

Nas' last album only did about 180k and that album was hyped to death with the whole "N1gger" title, which off course became "Untitled". I doubt Def Jam expects more than 100k with this album, i wouldn't. So for those who go and buy Em, and they see a legend like Nas with his new album, idk i think they could have more incentive to buy it. Thats usually how shopping works lol.

and to your last post...I actually don't expect any news until early April. I'm expecting them to drop a single before giving the release date. I know that doesn't happen to Eminem albums, but most other artists do it, like Drake recently. If the song catches fire, then they can set the release date. If not, next song. I think Interscope is gonna put a lot into R2 and expect 1 mill first week, so the whole promotion schedule could be different. We Made You wrecked Relapse sales imo. That shit was wack as fuck and hardcore Em fans know that, don't listen to some Stans on here who praise that song.

Hopefully this is similar to what will happen with R2. And it wouldnt really surprise me if thats what happens. Artists like Em obviously do not need alot of time in between announcing the release date and actually releasing the ablum to build hype, the news alone with generate alot of interest. Couple that with a good single (I agree WMY killed alot of Relapse's possible sales success) and hes got the perfect formula. Alot of times I think an artist hurts himself by announcing the release date like 4 months in advance, eventually all the hype that was built up by the announcement will die down.
