How did Em meet Xzibit?

Obviously they are great friends. They've done 3/4 collaborations, Xzibit was in 8 Mile, and so on and so forth. But I always wondered how they met. I always assumed it was through Dre. Dre signed Eminem around 1997/1998 and Eminem got exposed to people around Dre/Dre's camp, ex. Mel Man (who would later produce songs with Dre for Em), Snoop etc. And I always thought that Nate Dogg & Xzibit were in this bunch of people associated with Dre, that Em met and associated himself with as well music wise. Then I read that Xzibit is from Detroit. So does anybody have any information on how & when they met? I'm assuming it was around 1998/1999 when the 2001 record came out, and when they both were featured with Dre on What's the Difference. Just curious :y:

but i'm assuming through Dre.. Xzibit was working a lot with Dre during the Chronic 2001 (1997-1999) days, and thats around the time Dre met Em. . Probably met in a studio one day when they were working on some projects. Just my 2 cents, but i always under the impression it happened something like this haha

But yeah I'd always assumed it was through Dre's camp. Xzibit is a fucking great rapper and seems like a nice guy from what I've seen.
