Lmao, a plain facepalm never fails to make me smirk. Just the little face in the little hand, says so much and is so personable but so cartoony n silly too.
It doesn't amuse me.. at all.
Wouldn't you agree that the overuse of smileys denotes a deficiency in expressiveness with words?
Sometimes. But I also think that the overkill of a certain 'level' of terminology bunched up can actually detract from a sentence, like you have here "denotes a deficiency in expressiveness".
I also think sometimes less is more and subtlety can be just as wonderful and expressive as detailed analysis and output.
Like with Gervais in The Office. The weight he gets across from just his body language, his eye movement... Amazing. Playing the use of certain dialect just right, just dribs and drabs, beautiful, subtle timing.
And, we're on a forum. So you don't always have to be so serious, this isn't a court room. If it doesn't amuse you at all Queen Liz, fine... I'm not expecting to be overwhelmed by expressive perfection online, round any corner. I personally am very descriptive and over the top but doesn't mean everybody else will or should be. I don't really care online tbh.
