If Relapse 2 sucks....

So, A lot of people here don't care for Relapse much. From what I gather, people thinks a decent album but put it under sslp, mmlp, and tes...but above encore. So, Im wondering, with all the anticipation....If R2 doesn't deliver like everyone is expecting, or is about "as good" as Relapse....How many of you will kinda 'give up' on eminem. Not to say stop listening to his music but not get as hyped for one of his albums coming. Or will you be upset and say you wont get that hyped, but because its em, when he does drop another, you'll be just as hyped regardless

I think, as a rapper, Relapse shows that he atleast still had it, or he's better than ever. Musically speaking it turned off alot of people though, because of Subject Matter, Beats, Accents, etc. I used to think it sucked, but looking back at it, I think it was a great way to come back. However, everyone got their hopes up for some "Eminem Show" shit where he would cry about life throughout the entire album, so of course they were disappointed.

And even though it's my 4th favorite Em album, it's still a great album.

So if Relapse 2 is as good as Relapse 1, I won't be disappointed as long as he approaches it differently. If you mean if he comes back with more serial killer/rape shit (Even if it's in the same class as Buffalo Bill or Stay Wide Awake), fuck yeah I'm going to be disappointed. What makes Em good is he always switches styles, and every album sounds different. If he keeps on playing out this concept, I'm going to stop listening to him because it simply gets boring.

But if he stays with the same rhyme schemes, flow, lyrics, and mind-state that he had on Relapse, ditched the accents, rapped about some other shit, and expanded his arsenal of producers (The Dre gimmick is played out and everyone knows it by now), then no I won't be disappointed. Hell, he can stick with Dre actually as long as the beats are a little more 'exciting' this time around.

To sum it up, I don't care if it's on the same level as Relapse 1, as long as he keeps it interesting, which he never fails to do.

No worries, I'm a fan for life. Even if R2 disappoints (I don't see how) I'll always be hyped for new Em music.

It's funny, I remember when Encore dropped the amount of hate Em got was overwhelming. You thought the reaction to Relapse was bad... it had nothing on Encore.

Sooooooo what I'm saying is Em can't possibly degrade his artistic career anymore than he has... he's already reached his lowest point in 2004.

i would be a little les hyped up for the album after Relapse 2 but i will still listen to it becease it will always be better as most of the other albums out there i only got hope for drake and B.o.B besides Em

I'd already given up on him...and then he shocked me with Relapse.

Then I got my expectations up for Relapse 2 knowing he was sober and that was the key to him being himself...but they've been shrinking with all the delay and the weak verses he's done in these lame collaborations with the likes of Lil Wayne.
