Relapse 2 Will Be A Great Album Here's The Evidence

but lacked replay value

Much was made earlier this year of Eminem's comeback album, Relapse. But the real story is how he has quietly made the best sequel since The Dark Knight

Well, when I finished Relapse, I had a whole album of material that didn't make it that I wasn't ready to throw away, so that was going to be Relapse 2. But then I got with Dre in Hawaii and started recording more, and now the new material has knocked out all the old songs. But yeah, the new material is definitely different. Making Relapse, I was still working the drugs out of my system, so there was a lot of...just jokey shit. It was a lot of punchline-y, funny, shock value—kind of going back to The Slim Shady LP. And that was cool, but I've kind of flipped the page. Now I'm going for songs instead of one-liners. I don't want to make shit that you hear once and then the joke's over; I want to make records that you could play a hundred times, a thousand times.

Precisely. That evidence simply proves that Em is in a good mindstate, and that he has produced some good verses lately. It is not evidence that he will continue that over to the album. The only thing it proves is that he has the ability to make material like that for the album. True evidence would be a snippet of a song, or even the full first single. That would provide some actual material to judge. However good The Warning or DTW was, it's seperate material than what's gonna be on R2

I've been underwhelmed by his lyrics in everything post-Relapse. He's getting rather sloppy again.

Only positives signs are his voice is still strong and he doesn't appear to have relapsed.

He will always be huge just look at the 3 festivals he is doing cause he is the headliner in all of them and 2 of them include Jay Z who seems to be trying his best lately to be radio friendly and he still cant do what he has never done and overtake Eminem in popularity.
