Stop demoting the club scene. It's not that horrible. It's actually quite fun if you know what your standards are. And no, not all clubs are like that. There are a lot of clubs where you can just have a good time with friends, dance, forget about school/work/etc. and in the mean time expanding your social networks.

There are always two sides to a coin, people. It depends on perception and if you're willing to flip the coin.

I usually hate clubs, but i went to this club once where they played proper 80's music, all like boy george and the beegees and stuff, it was awesome :flutter: I think it was aimed at the 'older generation' too, so you didn't get the sluts as much & there were cool people there, it was great :smoking:

I'd rather go to a club after i've been to the restaurant or something, i hate going to clubs straight away.

That's funny, we feel the same way towards rap.

And if you really don't mean offense, then don't say anything in the first place. I live and play that music which means so much to me, so of course I'll take some offense.

I didnt know you played it and it meant "so much" to you.

All I hear when I hear death metal is some awesome drummers playing with decent guitar players and a guy growl-screaming a bunch of nonsense.

To each their own though, I can see how people can like it....

Personally, I prefer higher pitched vocals by someone who is actually singing.

However, if my idea of what death metal is off, please provide a link of something that will change my perception :y:

But if I do go to a club, I like going with a girl because it's just more fun. I hate random grinding...granted I still do it, but it's just lame.

I agree, house parties > clubs. But, still, clubs can be fun.

That's why you should never go to clubs fille dwith 17-19 years old people. Because, well, those boys and girls are usually seeking for attention.. Granted, not all of them, however more than the older people.

If you don't like death growls, you won't like death metal.
That was all I wanted to hear from you though. I thought you were saying it "sucked" as in it doesn't take any talent.
As a guitar player myself, I can tell you that it's one of the most difficult genres to play.
But yeah, the growling is what turns people off mostly. Personally, I love how the singer uses his voice as an instrument to add to the brutality of the music, but it's obviously not for everyone.
The music just really gets me high.
To each his own indeed.

Hey man I feel you. Like I said, some death metal is awesome, if you were to take away the vocalist. I know it takes talent to perform that shit. I mean, its not just strummin chords, its a lot of intricate guitar playing.

- I take back my statement about decent guitarists, that wasnt correct.

I prefer the solo's and shit. Its hard for me to get into rock now a days. Its either Poppy crap like fall out boy, or its some really good band with a screaming singer crying about this or that, or its super "brutal" shit with guys "death growling".

thats why I like coheed. Intricate guitar playing, good vocals, crying about shit kept to a minimum....

I like saosin too, but thats just because i like the high pitched scream over the "death growl" and the actual band is fuckin dope.

Hey wait a second there. Our clubs are not the typical American clubs, it's just waaaaaay better, believe me. I had a really great time.

I wonder if the clubs around here are like the ones you guys are describing.. if it is, then definitely not my thing. But I've only been to a bar type place once, so I cant really judge on much. Hope you had fun though dR3!
