I'm sick of these posts and I'm sick of people saying the accent like Relapse had one single accent.

He slipped in and out of accents throughout and sometimes only in certain spots. It was more about bending words and creating more interesting sounds with rhyming. There wasn't one accent, there was about five different ones which he morphed in and out of in various forms.

He obviously wont. He was trying something new becuase of the serial killer persona. His voice has has changed on every album, it was just a little more extreme this time. Plus he used about 10 different accents. None of which annoyed me, 'cept for the Hello one. I think people let it annoy them.

But what with all his verses since Relapse being in a normal accent I assume he'll stick with that for R2.

I think the accent was a pretty creative way to rhyme more words and something that has not been done before. Or at least not done with the amount of skill and hard work that Em put into it.

BUT....

The accent made words rhyme easier and in a way made Em's job easier. Almost like a cop-out by him. He emphasized syllables in words to make them rhyme, which he has done since pre- SSLP, but the accent definitely made it easier to do. If you pay attention, he would of made 90% of the words rhyme without the accent anyway, so I still don't quite know why he chose to create it. He said he was "Kind of getting bored with the english language" which amazes me and shows just how much skill he has.

My opinion is that he could of spit all the rhymes with his regular voice and had just as much success with it, but the accent made them easier to hear. More for people who do not see all of the multis and the way he pronounces words to rhyme them. It also made the songs more smooth and easier on the ears.

I think the accent has a time and a place. It works some times, but not all the time.

I liked his use of it in 3 AM, and there were some other times that he used it as well during Relapse that just sounded 'right' (for lack of a better word).


I don't want a full album of it... But, as I said, it has it's place.
