14 isnt old enough to understand everything eminem talks about. I'm 23 and I am just starting to understand most of it. Like your father being a legacy. How do you live up to a parent like that? You want to surpass your parents but Hailie cant pass up eminem.

I think em would be happy if his kids suceed and are happy in life.
I think because his kids are getting older he quit drugs and is maturing now.
He can't change the past but he can make the future better.

Em isnt dumb he is a very smart man. Yes it was stupid to drop out of school and he has done stupid things in the past but atleast he has changed and is there for his daughter. So far it seems his kids have grown into beautiful smart girls. seems he raised them very good. People make mistakes. No one is perfect but he was always there for his girls. thats whats important.

I didn't mean "dumb" in this case. He isn't verry intelligend, i debout he has bid knowlige.
Don't get me wrong, Em is the man that i respect most, but i don't think he's verry inteligent (but he's American so it's normal). And you can't know how he raise his dauthers. I'm sure he's traying to do the best, but it's not nassasiry that his dauthers are "lovely kids"!! Your saying his daughters are going to turn out bad because of the mistakes he has made. in some cases that might happen but it seems it isn't and em is still a very good father. He is always there for his children. He has fought for his kids to make sure they didn't get taken away and now there older and it seems they turned into very intelegent normal teenagers.

My cousins mother is a druggie. She was actually acused of killing there father but they never found out if it was her. there was no evendince. But my cousins lived a very bad life. With drugs,vilionce and alchol but they turned out fine. My 26 year old cousin adopted his brother and sister and now has 2 kids ontop of that. He makes a good income. Yes he has made some mistakes too but like everyone else you learn from them but they are all doing great and live normal lives despite what they been through. Same with me. I been through alot,Made some mistakes but I learned from it all. So the point im trying to make with all this is it don't always matter what you witnessed as a child. Sometimes it does but not always.

I've been listening to Eminem since I was 9/10. I'm 19, coming on 20 now.

I understood what he was saying from day one. All that I didn't get was the odd reference to fictional characters or fables or situations I was unfamiliar with at the time. But I totally understood the fact he was button pushing. I understood the irony. He's one big well of subversion and wit but as a child, you see him for what he is.

I remember laughing at "Criminal" at 10/11 when he shouted "Hate fags? the answer's YES!" because it's so blindingly obvious that he's just goading the apprehensive listener, being provocational and in-character. GLAAD and everyone who protested him at the time are total MORONS. They do not get irony. It's not even complex irony, it's beautifully done but blazingly obvious.

Now obviously as you get older you see each layer of his lyricism in a new light, you can understand more perspectives and reason more. But 14 is easily old enough to understand his music. Just depends on how smart you are as an individual.
