Budden Responds To Amalgam,Explains Slaughterhouse/Shady Del

Postby lil_bayly » Mar 30th, '10, 05:38

It seems label issues are preventing Slaughterhouse from joining Eminem's Shady Records. Joell Ortiz has expressed his displeasure with the label situation and now Joe Budden is doing the same. Budden recently replied to allegations made by Amalgam Digital's DJ Next, who said Joe Budden has lied to his fans, other labels and Amalgam.

Next hit his Anyextee Twitter account to express his side of the story, claiming Budden used his budget to purchase a Mercedes Benz for Tahiry before their public break up and adding that Joey has lied to his fans.

"I set this company up as a platform to help propel artists. If our intention was to hold him back, we would have NEVER signed the "side-artist" agreement allowing him to record with E1 for the first [Slaughterhouse] record. We starved so he could eat. He lied to his group, he lied to his manager and he lied to his fans. He's also lied to me. "

"I've helped him more than you can imagine. Beyond just our business relationship, I went out of my way to help him and he screwed me."

He went on to say that Budden told fans he is suing the label only because "he's on the verge of that happening to him for stealing," but says he's willing to terminate the contract as long as money is exchanged. "If he gives us the money back, I'll terminate the contract and he is free to go. I'm not here to hold anyone down but I refuse to be ganked."

Next followed this up by pointing out that part of Budden's budget went towards a new car for Tahiry and made a joke about the incident.

"Apparently, buying his ex-girlfriend a new Benz RIGHT before she left him was more important than using his budget to record the album. He has not turned in Great Escape, he also owes one more album, and its his own fault why Escape Route sounded the way it did."

"If you want to know where The Great Escape is, Tahiry is driving the new men in her life around in it."

He's more recently added a post claiming he has "99 problems but a mouse ain't one," likely referring to Joe Budden's "Mouse" tag.

Budden replied to these statements with his own, according to Def Sounds.

"First of all, to fully understand [Next], you’d have to know him. He’s a little off in the way he thinks, which I am also, but just to try and hint at what I’m talking about, he believes he’s part of some Illuminati shit and can control the president’s moves with one phone call," he said before adding his side of the story.

"Dude wanted to sign Slaughterhouse, didn’t happen…I signed a two album deal after [Padded Room], one digital, one physical with a $140,000 advance all in, 80 to be paid up front, 60 for them to hold to pay producers, mixing, etc. Said contract was two pages, one being the actual contract, one being the sheet to sign…"

"Slaughterhouse signs to E1. Dude then calls E1 and my lawyer saying that I’m not legally allowed to do that album because I’m signed to him in an exclusive capacity and sends over a contract the size of a book with my signature, stating all types of crazy ass shit. They’re in charge of my merchandise, publishing, etc, & its a three album deal. I claim I didn’t sign that bullshit and there will be no Escape Route until this matter is cleared up. He calls to beg for Escape Route and in exchange will clear me to record the Slaughterhouse album while we clear everything up (only way this could be done considering both Escape Route and the Slaughterhouse album were way behind schedule because of all this)."

"He puts out Escape Route on the same date as Slaughterhouse (seems small, but dude had already been threatening Royce and Joell’s managers with dropping a Budden project in close proximity to anything they do, which no one wanted, naturally). E1 wants to re sign Slaughterhouse but here comes Shady [Records]. Next then goes and cuts some deal with Alan [Grunblatt] (E1). What that deal included, no one really knows for sure, but they got a shitload of money under the promise they’d be able to deliver Budden product (remember, E1 wants Budden desperately). So now a hard copy of Escape Route comes out to everyone’s surprise and is doing great, generating A LOT of money that I haven’t seen a dime of, along with Padded Room, Halfway House and Mood Muzik royalties.

"I decide I’m not handing in Great Escape (to E1 who’s expecting it because that's what they paid Amalgam for basically) until Amalgam has absolutely nothing to do with Budden. Keep in mind, when I did try to hand Great Escape to Amalgam, I told them they needed to start paying these producers with that other [$60,000] before we start losing records (this is back when we were trying to “clear” everything up). They said, "Hell no," [and said that] I better pay them from the 80k I got, the 60 ain't movin 'til the album's out. I also offered to pay them, in full, [$140,000] to remove themselves from any situation of mine, didn’t happen. E1 offered them 200k to do the same. I was told, “Dude is crazy. He’s coming back with astronomical numbers..."

"So now E1 is supposedly trying to buy that contract from them, but E1 also wants to keep that exclusivity part in there to have some control over the Slaughterhouse/Shady deal. Shady offered a buy out, they didn’t take it. Shady offered an override (which they’re negotiating now to my knowledge)."

"Bottom line, Amalgam forged a contract, probably [because] they knew their piece of shit company would fall immediately once I left. But that's me guessing, who really knows why. So that, along with E1 trying their best to keep Slaughterhouse, is holding things up a tad bit. Take what you will outta that. I tried my best to help clarify without disclosing everything."

To the Benz allegations, Budden also made a reply.

"If any of you have ever bought a car, Tahiry is leasing hers for $500 a month, which I put the down payment on (4K)…Since when did you ever need 80k to even buy a car? *Jordanshrug*"

Fans will recall the rumors of Slaughter signing with Shady first came up after the group was seen behind Eminem in last year's "Forever" video.

Budden fucked over Amalgad by buying a Benz for his GF with the budget for his latest album (this is why it wasn't mastered properely), so now they won't let him sign to Shady recs as a part of SH.

Wrong. You should take both sides of the story in account, not just Amalgam's part.

Isn't Budden's side of the matter that amalgad won't let him bypass their contract to get rich with shady?

He is mad cause the contract he signed with amalgad doesn't allow him to work with SH at Shady recs without amalgads permission, which they won't give. And since he signed the contract in the first place he needs to shut the fuck up.

Nah, he never signed that contract. Amalgam forged a contract, because without Joey there profit will decline heavily. Joey offered a buy out, Shady offered one as well. It seems that the latter is being negotiated on right now, or they already have.

Joell said something along the lines of that there is good new on the horizon. So, maybe, they sorted things out now.

Well if they acctually forged that contract/forced Joey to sign via blackmail it shouldn't really be a problem to get out of it if he gets a half decent lawyer, but if he actually DID sign a contract with them at any point and that contract is still in effect then he gotta stop complaining because he can blame himself.

If he is under contract there is nothing wrong with Amalgad not letting him go.

I'm not really sure if SH on Shady will be a good thing though, not after seeing what happened with Stat Quo etc.
